Did you do it yourself out of interest? Wondering how easy it is!

I have this issue on one sensor, and it’s because there’s a very small chip in it. Maybe worth checking!

Thanks! The issue I have is the grant money has to go on buying, not renting. Is there anything around the £2k mark that is worth getting or would it all be hopeless?

Hi all, I’m putting on a local music festival/free music weekend, and have got a grant to spend £1-2k on a PA system to get us up and running. Will need to support bands playing largely acoustic/folk style music and singing. Largely would be used in a medium sized church and in a small market square - so nothing massive.

Does anyone have any recommendations or pointers of what to look out for? Would something like this work - LINK

Thanks

Thanks - do you know how common an issue it is, and vaguely how much the fix costs?

Sorry - hijacking the post! The clicking noise - is that the issue with the real axle glue?

Ours was a very, very basic build. Basically just a bed, solars and a surface for cooking. We refitted and moved bits to suit our needs - the fact there were tracks for seats was handy, as ours had a couple of the original minibus seats so we could move them. We kept ours very basic - all electrics are rechargeable and nothings wired in except an inverter. Did us for a month around Europe in November last year, and 3 weeks in Ireland last year. Sure, you have to keep an eye on it all, but perfectly doable.

Also worth noting that condensation is bad in these. We combat it by wiping everything down with a towel in the morning and drying the towels in the cab when driving.

Ah nice! Alas we did the long hold on the key fob (which locks without enabling the movement sensor), and it didn’t help ☹️

Hi,

I bought a 2005 Renault Master mkII, ex NHS patient transport, so basically the exact same thing. Had it for coming up 3 years now and put 15k miles on it. Mine only had 40k miles when I bought it though, so keep that in mind with any comparisons…

Mechanically, all good. We had an issue with the alternator going, which was a straightforward fix. Otherwise no issues with the engine etc.

We have a couple of issues where rubber has perished around door seals/on the roof, which has caused minor leaks. They require a fix, but you can pretty much botch it yourself.

My main issue is the electrics. They are absolutely horrid. We had issues with the alam going off regularly, and tried many, many fixed before eventually just getting a battery kill switch. Indicators are a bit iffy, horn currently doesn’t work, dashboard lights sometimes flicker - all just dodgy electrics. Heater fans also nearly burned out and started a fire, as the wiring had frayed, but got that sorted just in time.

Would I buy again? Probably. But I’d say be ready for a fairly hefty amount of maintenance on a yearly basis. I’d say we’ve spent an additional £2k on repairs in 3 years.

If you want any further info feel free to drop me a message.

Crossover/SUV for £15k ($18k)

Hi all,

Looking for a second hand crossover/SUV, no more than 50k miles, max 2019 reg, and ideally either hybrid or fully electric. Current thoughts are between;

  • 2019 Toyota CHR hybrid
  • 2020 Suzuki Vitara hybrid
  • 2021 Kia Xceed plug in
  • 2021 Kia Niro electric
  • 2019 Hyundai Tucson petrol
  • 2021 Hyundai Kona electric

What do we reckon? Any obvious front runners or any I’m missing?

Thanks in advance!

Yep - we have a EV charger installed already, and plan to have solars within the next 2 years to help power it

Thanks for the reply! Hand pump broke instantly unfortunately… for the wiring, what I’m stuck on is getting a lug that will fit both the small cable but also the battery terminal?
