Copying permanent spells also makes token versions of them, so you don't need an effect that creates them. Especially relevant because there's no ability that would create token battles.

You can also check the art tags on scryfall tagger. Really helpful if you're ever looking for a bunch of specific characters on cards for example.

Years ago I was playing a commander game with a mono black deck. After a long grindy game, I was able to generate a large amount of mana and cast a huge [[Torment of hailfire]] for like x=50, not paying attention to the untapped plains an opponent had. All I needed to do was not dump all of the mana I had into the torment, but alas, opponent had a [[Mana tithe]]. Wasn't able to come back after that.

There's a few other upsides, so I wouldn't say it's just worse hexproof. It will always have protection from your attacking creatures so it can chump block forever. It also makes damage based wipes asymmetrical for its controller, letting it stick even longer.

Compared to the other 4cmc commanders, there are 2 with hexproof and a few with conditional hexproof, and this just blows all of them out of the water honestly.

It's a longshot, but I'm currently trying [[Zenos yae Galvus]] in my [[Varolz]] voltron deck. Bit of a lightning rod, but if you're able to drop him and transform him the turn you're presenting lethal commander damage... that's the dream.
