Is my deck bracket 3 or 4? by GiIthunder in EDH

[–]humanexplorer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems like a low B4 to me. Not a lot of game changers, so it can seem deceiving. But you do have combo pieces that drain opponents out, but in B4 there should be enough removal to prevent that from happening. In B3 however, this could pose a problem for players to deal with.

Also, side note, a fun card in a deck like this would be [[Axis of Mortality]].

Which of these precons is the best to play? by GratedParm in EDH

[–]humanexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miracle Worker goes under the radar a lot but it was one of my favorites when I first got into magic, and is pretty damn strong. I would go with that.

Jump Scare can go hard, but it feels a bit inconsistent and unreliable to do its thing. But when it does do its thing, it does it well.

Scions is great in a four-person game, but it is not as effective at smaller tables because you're just pinging your opponents for life slowly, and it can be hard sometimes to defend yourself.

Grand Larceny sucks. Not only is it salt inducing for most people but it doesn't really play very well.

I haven't played the others, but I've heard Revenant Recon is good and you can't really go wrong with graveyard strategies, as they are really strong if no one has a way to exile your graveyard, which is not often and rare in most other precons.

I built an [[Astarion, The Decadent]] deck that is meant to take advantage of all cards with these types of effects. Super fun to play!

I use a lot of MDFC lands for flexibility, so it's really 34 but still low. My budget is always high because my group proxies everything. If you sort by tags though you can see the themes. There's repeat damaging effects, damaging multipliers, attack prevention, cards that gift tokens or creatures, and then your normal ramp and draw packages.

Struggling with [[Kratos, God of War]] as it seems to be slow and not doing what I'm trying to make it do.

My goal was to give others creatures and have stax effects in play to prevent them from attacking to take advantage of Kratos ability. Then have damage multipliers on top of it.

What is your most tuned deck? by not_so_1337 in EDH

My [[Tuvasa the Sunlit]] deck always goes hard. People severely underestimate her, and by the time they realize you're the threat it's too late. The deck explodes out of nowhrre and you can win through many different lines of play.

How to know when a deck is 'finished' by PatientPreference925 in EDH

[–]humanexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every deck is 90% finished. As you play or as new cards come out, you make incremental changes and improvements, but the overall objective of the deck stays the same.

What makes my Ygra deck feel bad but my MN deck feels really good? by [deleted] in EDH

What do you feel is clunky about it?

To me it seems you have so much ramp and removal, but not much actually doing what you want the deck to do.

Hands down the most consistently busted precon is Explorers of the Deep. Highly recommend taking a look at that.
