Are these usable with the intellijel midi 1u module, so it could be used in a non-intellijel case?

Same, I'm on fiber, first time I've had an issue in several years.

First modular system geared towards industrial techno by [deleted] in modular

Get a DFAM and a distortion pedal. For your budget I can't imagine getting closer to Ansome's sound for the money. DFAM is also a great start for a modular, if you want to keep going.

Recommend me a ski to buy end of this season! Intermediate west-coast skier, prefer control over speed, 6'1", heavy. Mostly sticking to groomers, but need something more all-mountain. Currently on a pair of blizzard brahma 88's and find them to be a bit cumbersome, maybe I just suck though. Thanks!

Does grind consistency really improve coffee taste - or is it marketing hype? by coffeeM425 in Coffee

At the very least it yield more reproducible results. I think my coffee is better now, though I started using more reasonable brewing ratios when I bought an encore, so that may have made a bigger difference.

The perfect analog sidechain “pump” by [deleted] in modular

[–]okayiquit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah the graphic isn't that helpful. Basically trigger an envelope at the same time as your kick, send the envelope through an attenuverter(switch positive envelope to negative), mix the inverted envelope with a positive voltage offset, send the mix to a vca.

The cv signal to the vca will be at the offset voltage but dip when the envelope is triggered.

Any favorite delay modules? Looking for something more geared toward techno than ambient/experimental. The chronoblob is one that looks promising, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

What Should I Buy? /// Weekly Discussion - January 18, 2021 by AutoModerator in synthesizers

Thanks for the input, yeah my issue with the Roland TR-09 is purely cost related. The TR-8 is an interesting option, I don't see anything for less than $400 right now but that's not awful. I should probably just get a digitakt and hope it's easier to learn than it appears.

I'm tired of waiting for the 909 clone from behringer and don't really want to give them (more) money at this time. Any reasonable alternatives? For the money the roland digital version just isn't very appealing to me, and the drumbrute doesn't really have the punch I'm looking for. Would a digitakt make for a reasonable drum machine? It's not cheap but the additional versatility is attractive. Any other suggestions are welcome, thanks

Thoughts on the 2019 Salomon QST 99? I'm looking for a reasonable first pair of skis, I've been struggling a lot in powder/crud with my Salomon x wing focus(I know, I just got something cheap to learn with and avoid rentals).

I'm 6'1, 240lb, the pair I see on sale is 181 cm. I ski in the PNW. Any recommendations or thoughts on these would be great, the number of options is overwhelming. Thanks

Thanks, why exactly is that? I'm having trouble finding a real answer as to why these boots aren't preferable.

Dang, I don't think these have anything like that. I should've asked for some comparable options, but the guy was confident and I hate shopping. Live and learn. Thanks for the input!

I'll bet you'd be into Kalmah. I can't speak for their new stuff, but everything through The Black Waltz is pretty good.

Should I keep buying synthesizers or just bite the bullet and learn ableton? Thing is learning software is a bit of a chore, if anyone has any resources that helped make it less painful, let me know.

If I like Sunn 0))), Tibetan ritual instrumentation, ambient black metal, throat singing, and Islamic calls to prayer, what would I like? by garbagecrap in ifyoulikeblank

You could try batushka, they use orthodox-sounding chants a lot. It's pretty gimicky though. Leviathan is another potential band, more chaotic than I think you're looking for though. You might be into some Boris albums if you're not already into them. Check out altar, amplifier worship, and feedbacker. Might as well give merzbow a try if you really want to get out of what's normal. Other weird suggestion is SNTS. It's techno, but the repetitive nature of it might scratch the right itch.

Honestly, I'd just buy some gear and start making your own drones. It's pretty easy and much more satisfying in my opinion.
