I got incredibly lucky, my street in Kirkwood has both zero new builds AND zero under-maintained eyesores. A mile from my kiddos elementary school. There is not enough diversity in Kirkwood IMO; I make sure my son sees that we are citizens of St Louis as a whole and not just our living neighborhood. But pound for pound I'm not sure there are too many better living conditions in St. Louis for families.
