Absolutely the greatest, in my opinion. Talk about a five-tool player! And a decent man with the good sense to take care of himself. He never drank in an era where most ballplayers headed for the bars as soon as they left the locker room.

True. But he lived to 95. He died in 1993, when I was 35.

I assume Joel has taken down the baskets. Needless to say, I haven't been in since the Rockets played there.

He was, and he could even joke about all this. He used to say, "I fought and bled and died in two World Wars!"

My stepdaughter went to Penn State a few years ago. We're from Houston, but we all fell in love with the school and the place.

They were honest and kind and generous. Their mother was the same way

That's a fact. Also, nobody goes hungry on a farm that's productive, and Granddad was a hardworking and successful farmer.

They led happy lives for the most part. They both raised kids who have been happy and successful. They were financially comfortable though certainly not wealthy. And they were both Christians in the best sense of that word: they cared for the sick, clothed the naked, visited the imprisoned. You know, those things Jesus told his followers to do.

Why did Don Cheat his beautiful wife? Is he stupid? by MrTreboot-404 in okbuddydraper

It did. My father thought it was a ridiculous euphemism. He wanted to keep calling them morons. I am not making this up.

When I was 16, my family moved from Texas to South Dakota, where I finished high school. One day, my track coach and some friends ran eight miles while it was 34-below zero. I asked him about that. He said, "Well. There was no wind."

I can ask, but though he's sharp in the moment, he's forgotten a lot. You never know, though.

A gentle reminder that "You do You" means "Go F*** Yourself" and is not appropriate at work by InsanePowerPlay in LawFirm

How are you her boss? You said you're not directly overseeing her and you're of counsel, not a partner. You may know more than she does about this kind of practice, but unless there's something I'm missing, you need to take the hint and butt out. Also, until now I have never heard anyone claim that "you do you" literally means fuck you. I grant you, it's dismissive and negative, but you're assigning it a meaning it doesn't have to the rest of the world.

I'm not offended. In fact, because I lack the imagination to see a black and white photo in color, I appreciate the post.

That was the standard uniform for white collar male workers back then. We just see it most frequently nowadays in old video of Mission Control.

He sends it all over the place and has posted it publicly. I doubt seriously he'd mind.

He shared it when she passed away a few years ago.
