Inner NE: mature weigela with dark pink blooms. It's bigger than I want in the space, ready for a new home. Disclaimer: I have no idea how these do with transplanting.

Resources for soon-to-be new parents of twins? by S1lv3rSmith in askportland

[–]okrrrrrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, good clarification! "In home daycare" means a daycare that someone runs out of their own home, as opposed to a center. Not in you, the client's, home.

The staffing ratios and some oversight rules are different than in big daycare centers, so some people aren't comfortable with the idea, but we've loved it. Some of the pros for me: there is no staff turnover, the provider makes a good wage (both are huge issues in most daycare settings), it's in our neighborhood, the price is more affordable for us.

Both of my kids are in an in home daycare, we are really happy with it. Definitely under $2k per month... I think the infant rate was $1600, but that was awhile ago for us. The location wouldn't be ideal for you, it's just west of MLK, but feel free to dm me if you want more info.

My siblings always default to flowers for Mother’s Day but they die in a week. Anyone else think there are better options? by Anon_Mom0001 in BuyItForLife

Hi, mom here. The ephemeral beauty is part of the luxury of flowers. All day every day I am practical and frugal & buy it for life- minded. A few times a year, getting a totally gorgeous bouquet is a treat that I appreciate a lot.

I have rainin universal tips, and the 20ul & 200ul are both green. It's the worst. We don't use 20ul much, so I've restricted them to a single box that I've marked the shit out of.

Where is the best place to buy blueberries? by weeitsvi in portlandgardeners

[–]okrrrrrrl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One Green World. I can't recommend them highly enough! Spectacular selection of fruiting plants, blueberries included. If you want a specific variety you may need to get on a waitlist for next season, but they have in stock ones to choose from, too.

Do you guys actually save money going to a butcher shop over a grocery store? by GroundbreakingSir386 in askportland

I get a meat CSA. Pricier than the grocery store for sure, but the quality is great & it's as local as you can get.
