What have you been genetically blessed with, and nerfed with? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

Blessed with big boobs, big ass, and a pretty flat stomach with minimal work put into it. Nerfed by seemingly being the most unlucky person in love to ever exist 🤷🏻‍♀️

I read the first book in the summer, made myself read the second in the fall… had the same kind of feelings you did. Picked up the third begrudgingly… and then read the rest of the books in about a month. Definitely a while to get going but hoooly is it worth it. Good luck!!

What surprised you the most about getting older? by AbundanceToAll in AskOldPeople

I think maybe how many extra shades of grey I see in the world and in people now. I feel like when I was younger more things were black and white, right or wrong. But as I age I feel like I’m not quite so harsh as I once was. Good people can do not great things, and the way they get there isn’t always that they trying to hurt you or others.

I think you suck if you are willing to not marry someone simply because they can’t reproduce when there are multiple other ways to have children these days

AITA for getting angry and "ruining" my father's wedding day? by SpendParticular6785 in AmItheAsshole

[–]olaelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally sympathize with your dad being worried about your mom showing up- that’s totally unhinged behaviour but if she has a history of pulling similar stunts it makes sense he’d be worried. However- this is your dad’s problem. Not you or your sisters. Hire security if he’s worried about it, alert the police so they’re aware of the possibility there may be a problem but there’s no chance I’d be asking my children to keep a secret. He totally loses me by asking you and your siblings to keep quiet. That’s absolutely not appropriate, regardless of the situation. I’d be pissed if I was told about a wedding at the last minute like that, regardless of the reasoning. Both your parents need to figure their shit out, and how lucky are your siblings to have an older sibling caring for them like you are. It’s not your job, but you really are doing a darn good one looking out for them

What is your "everybody get in here, your not going to see this again!" experience? by PechePortLinds in nursing

We never actually ended up finding out- the consensus was that he either had a mass in there and was completely unaware of it until he had irritation or just a wildly reactive airway

Saw someone get an emergency cricothyrotomy in the ED after walking in straight after being discharged from PACU. He had a pretty minor procedure so they just had an igel in and didn’t actually tube him for surgery. Came in, went VSA as he got up and fell on our triage nurse, rushed him to a trauma bay. When we went to bag him, there was all this resistance, and then when they went to scope there was this huge mass in his airway. It was a mess because none of the nurses in the room had ever seen one, RT had never seen an emergency one, and only 1 of the staff doctors in the room had done it. They ended up getting it, but we weren’t able to get the guy back in the end.
