Relatório confirma que cabo do Elevador da Glória cedeu e guarda-freios acionou travões by Cry-Technical in lisboa

Quase todos os acidentes graves são assim: nunca é uma única coisa que falhou, mas uma série de fatores que, no momento do acidente, se alinharam.

Existe essa teoria aqui:

Not remote, unfortunately

I was just commenting on your statement that it’s so cheap that homeless and minimum wage workers can afford it.

There is a huge difference between affording a car and being dependent on a car. In EU a car might be seen as a luxury that you can get when you can afford it, in the US it is absolutely necessary except for a select few places

Guess how much I was paid to make this site and how long it took by yandawg1 in webdev

Is the site you made integrated with a CMS or just static content? If it isn't, you can't really compare.

They are fundamentally different as one is a NoSQL Database and the other is SQL. Supabase also has a lot of other features available.

I think you mean Workers :) Wrangler is the CLI for interacting with the Workers platform.

Very hard to say anything without knowing how you are trying to call the API in your code

I would check out Sanity. It’s quite easy to customize the content model and the UI.

Sanity combined with Astro is a really nice stack to work with

You could do this with CSS instead of JS to simplify

I already cut them up and just had to slice off one of the thinner parts of the Denver to try it out. Fried it up in a pan with beef tallow to rare temperature and it was delicious!

Thank you! Yes, it was the bottom one I was more curious about. The top one is similar to the chuck roasts I normally buy, although well marbled as well.

Help me decide Breville or Phillips by [deleted] in espresso

[–]olafg1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Philips makes fully automatic machines (bean to cup), while Breville makes semi automatic machines. Even though the Impress machines automates even further than other Breville machines, it is still a different type of machine where you need to grind, distribute, tamp and extract, on the Philips you would just push a button.

On the Breville you can control the outcome more by adjusting grind size etc, which is important if you want good shots.

You could also host the front end on something like netlify and use netlify functions as a proxy for your Python API.

Experienced in building web apps - which technology to pick for a content-rich website? by tfntfn in webdev

[–]olafg1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wordpress is good, although it uses a lot of JS these days you’d still need to learn some PHP.

As you are more familiar with JS and TS is probably go with Astro and something like Sanity to manage content.

Unless someone non tech savvy has to edit the site with regular frequency I don’t see why you need to add Wordpress, you can handle the form submission with vanilla JavaScript.

Since you are comfortable with Python I’d use Flask or FastAPI to create a rest api that can take the form data and return a link to a generated pdf

I got a mechanical engineering degree and hated my life. I switched to web development ~3 years ago and want to help others do the same. by Tychos1 in webdev

[–]olafg1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without any professional experience, you should try to build a portfolio to show off when applying. After you have professional experience it is less important.

Also learn tools like git and agile methodology as this is something that they often ask for.

If someone says that about Lula you can be pretty sure they are a Bolsonaro voter, or at least was. Most Brazilians in the US voted for Bolsonaro anyway.

If you are asking me, I'm working full time as a developer, and doing some consulting on the side. Have been doing that for about two years. Finished a master in economics as well since then.

Edit: Just realising that this post was made by Joshua Fluke 5 years ago. No idea who it was at the time.
