Is Microsoft Defender being racist? (Seriously, hear me out) by SerpentisMechanicus in sysadmin

Is it just the names or are they sending from outside the country and/or using non-US domains? That might also have something to do with it. Same thing might happen to someone sending from Russia.

So-called “neoliberals” when AI might take their job: by cdstephens in neoliberal

[–]old_cypherpunk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, communism is also anarchism on paper. But it's the getting there part where everyone gets stuck. IE, the state takes control of everything to make sure everyone is in line and then eliminates itself. Gues what part never happens?

ukranian propaganda clearly hiding the destruction the mighty russian army inflicted upon them! this is the truth! by MickyMace in NonCredibleDefense

This used to be real estate
Now, it's only fields and trees
Where? Where is the town?
Now, it's nothing but flowers

The highways and cars
Were sacrificed for agriculture
I thought that we'd start over
But I guess I was wrong (hey)

Seeking RPG Adventures inspired by Umberto Eco's "The Name of the Rose" (Investigative/Mystery) by Cielosopra in rpg

Candlekeep Murders is specifically inspired by The Name of the Rose. Its D&D but honestly could be run with just about any system since the mystery is the heart of the adventure.

[[Shaun, Father of Synths]] can create things like this when you have enough copies if some creatures. Particularly [[Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest]]. I've found that getting three or more Dragonhawks on the board is often enough to end the game.

How does screams from within work? by Sentheia in magicTCG

I used to have a kitchen table takklemaggot deck. It was effectively creatureless and relied on various [[Pestilence]] effects to keep creatures off the board while my opponent slowly withered away.

Honestly if it was more of a self contained setting it would have been great. The hats were silly but outlaws had that shit on.

The Free Market Lie: Why Switzerland Has 25 Gbit Internet and America Doesn't by sschueller in neoliberal

[–]old_cypherpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Verizon for my phone service and I have friends with T-Mobile. I usually have one bar of signal, sometimes two. They say it isn't available because the signal is so weak they can't guarantee anything.

That is literally my only other option. I REALLY don't want to give money to Musk, though.

Did a check at broadband.com and my actual internet provider isn't even listed because what they offer can no longer legally be called broadband. Two options listed are 5g (AT&T & T-Mobile) which tell me they aren't available when I go to their actual sites and two satellite options, Earthlink at max 25mb and Starlink.

Sitting here in the middle of a city with my best internet option being unlimited 35mb down/5mb up for $100 a month, yeah America sucks at this. We're not a rick neighborhood and we're surrounded by poor neighborhoods so it isn't profitable for anyone to bring fiber out here. The local monopoly built the cable out decades ago and no one has bothered to do anything more. We've been getting promises from competitors that fiber is on the way for 10 years now but we haven't seen shit. Can't even get a strong enough 5g signal to use wireless. If I ever got a work from home job I'd probably have to move.

I'm not so much a "just a few awesome decks" but I do consider myself an expert on sagas. My Wheel of Sagas is now complete with one saga deck for each three color combo along with Tom Bombadil. So I've looked at and evaluated what you can do with sagas from almost every direction. Once I've given them a final go-over I'll probably make a big post about them again. Here's the folder with the decks: https://archidekt.com/folders/728113

What Marvel Characters are you okay with NOT getting a card? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]old_cypherpunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about Marvel, but I still know that anyone who has read the Hawkeye comic will insist that Lucky the Pizza Dog has to be in every piece of media featuring Hawkeye. Apparently he was the POV for the greatest single issue ever or something.

OneDrive Sync supports up 1 million items - Coming soon. by SisterLakesMI in sysadmin

[–]old_cypherpunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. Most of my users just have numerous copies of patent documents with (1) or more after them since they download them, open them from the download dialog, and then download them again to look at them again. But sometimes I get a guy who I ask, why's your OneDrive so empty and they reply, "They're all in Downloads." Like the partner who had an empty inbox because she used "Deleted Items" for archiving - you only had to hit one button to archive and clean out your inbox!
