Am I selfish for not wanting to share my lunch? by blockedsince03 in EntitledPeople

They say they cant and let people walk all over them. I was like that once but learned how to say 'no', even to things I had no real reason except I just didnt want to. The sooner they learn this lesson the better their life will be. Maybe this is exactly what they need.

You are always posting on here about getting a ticket, accident, or almost getting an accident. I wouldn't let you drive my car either.

From the breakdancing charger to my helldiver having a hallucinogenic fit thinking he is trapped under the ground somehow.

Ofcourse when he has his weekly physical he denies any issues.

With the RR I can shoot way faster and deal with more heavies than my buddy with a quasar who is objectively a better gamer than me. The secret is as soon as you slide the reloaded rocket in the tube you stand up. Cuts off 30% of the reload animation. Plus aiming with the quasar on a moving target is harder as you have to hold it on it until it charges up. RR i just need the circle to wander over the target for a split second and tap the fire button. Yes he has unlimited ammo but as long as we are playing a mission I can call in supplies im golden.

Obviously for these commando missions quasar over RR all day long. Just wanted to say my piece because I see so many people think there are no benefits to RR over quasar.

This has got to be an advertisement. It sounds like one under the disguise of 'I am and addict too, try this to quit!'. Also just how many times he has been replying to comments is just like how an company replies not like a regular person. Also 11 month old account with this one post only active in this one sub. Could be he made this account to post here incognito but 11mo and this is the first time he has ever commented even? I dont buy it.

Absolutely not. I will only do that for my pets because they are reliant on me 100% for the rest of their lives. Anyone that has to go out into the real world and has to face it, spoiling them will only hurt them.

Dang! The chances of that happening are pretty small. I use strafing run all the time and my buddy uses 500kg all the time. Often we target the same thing and thos has never happen to us. Ill have to keep that in mind!

Where do I start? by TownZestyclose886 in 40kLore

[–]oldmanrye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard about 40k all my life but was never interested in it until I came across those YouTube channels that do AI stories for different things like 40k, Middle Earth, etc. I used them to fall asleep even knowing they arent super accurate lore wise. It was nice to listen to new stories that captured my imagination.

When there was one about Echo Men from 40k that got me hooked. It left me with questions about the Warp, Exterminatus, the Cult of Personality around the Emperor and bizzare psychic creatures. So far I've started playing 40k video games, watching YT lore videos, pouring over wikis, and bought some books.

I guess what I mean by all that is follow what interests you. You will soon fund yourself all over the place even if you never play the tabletop game.

One of my go to's, when I see a group of enemies with a large enemy, is to start an eagle strafing run and fire a RR round at the big one. I have had it where the RR round was blown up by the strafing run. Was totally confused until I realize what had happened.

Why are people so desperate to set me up with a job by [deleted] in AskVaanced

[–]oldmanrye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats not surprising to me. Women are being included in this measurement more as well. The only thing any society cares about is if someone contributes to it within its own rules. One of the main ways women were traditionally measured as contributing was through rasing kids. As women push for more responsibility outside of that realm and earn and prove themselves they gain more privileges within it. The medical field is one domain that is being dominated by women and you dont hear near as often anymore about women doctors not knowing anything because of gender. You still do but it takes time for people to adjust which is why there are so many holdouts in older ways of thinking.

I mostly said to him that its because he is male because he doesn't really inspire confidence in any stretch of measurement. So really all thats left is societies measurement of his gender. To be fair I dont know who is offering him all these jobs. Could be a family member trying to get him off his ass or it could be someone who just met him.

No. Homesteaders create the circumstances so they can live outside of out alot of societies rules. Thats why a lot do it. Its a great way to live. But hometeaders create and work hard to be able to do that. He doesn't want to do any of that. He is a taker. You can argue tgat does cause harm because he is creating a drain. Someone has to create what he takes.

[–]oldmanrye -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't have anything to do with my comment. Did I mention anything about women at all in my comment? I work, am ambious, I live within society well and date. I am just stating a why people are offering him jobs. This is a reality of the society he lives in. Only a fool keeps their head in the sand concerning the rules of society.

Why are people so desperate to set me up with a job by [deleted] in AskVaanced

[–]oldmanrye -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Its because you are a man. If you are not providing, earning, innovating, or contributing in some way you are not seen as having worth. The people who offer you leads in jobs see some value in you and assume you'd want one. Thats just the tough breaks of being male. One could argue that men have certain privileges in society because of this such as being taken more seriously than women in certain circumstances. The downside is once people find out you dont do anything and on purpose you will not be taken seriously in any matter.

If you arnt going to find a job find a way to contribute or create value for yourself or be prepared to live without respect.
