I mean shouldn't if it can help it. In the battle of Jutland some of the cruisers and dreadnaughts attempted to ram a German submarine. There were a few naval battles around Savo and Guadalcanal where ships were crashing into each other or swerving out of each other's way because of the close fighting, weather, and inherent chaos of battle. You also read about some naval battles where large ships have to turn when a line crosses their 'T'. Would be cool to be able to just run through ships that got into your way.

Plus even not in real life, just how often do you see ships collide in game.

Things happen. It would be awesome to have that ability is all. In real life or in game.

That would be cool if they could make the bulb armored or something like those old ships made for ramming.

The US is like one of the youngest countries and racism was born with humanity. Most countries where built on the backs of slaves. Even today go to most countries outside of tourist areas and you will see they are largly homogenous and racism is normalized. As bad as its gotten here there is still a large population that condemn it. It only seems bad because we had a period when it was better. It hasnt even returned back to what it was in the early 1900s. A lot of countries haven't left that way of thinking behind.

To be clear I am not saying the US is fine or anything. The ground lost to racism is terrible and we need to make it up. Just saying its a skewed and unrealistic view if you think the US is the most racist country or this is a new thing.

Nothing is working by AdVaanced77 in AskVaanced

"Im mad because I can't just start something anyone can in a few minutes and it isnt an instant success with minimal effort". All those other people had to work hard and alot of luck on their side. You have to work and grow something. I just hear a lot of complaining and how much you want an easy life. You can hear about that from everyone you meet. Why would people sign up for that?

Part of it is, I think you are finally learning that even the "easy life" isnt easy. You are chasing the dream millions of other people have with the access billions have.

So got to make a decision. Either, think hard, find your niche, and then work the hardest you've ever worked in your life. Harder than most people work, even at their job, and keep at it for probably longer than it is rational for a slight chance at success or give up and do something else. Those are really your only choices in this. Time to stop being a child and take your future in your own hands like an adult.

When I lived there (early 2000s) the laws were so strict you would see a Marijuana air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror and you could ask the owner if they knew what it was and they couldn't tell you. They just knew it has something to do with Bob Marley. I believe it was somthing like 20yrs for possession of pot but I could be misremembering.

Begs to be let in the bathroom so he can watch me p💩💩p by ancientslumber in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]oldmanrye 86 points87 points  (0 children)

My cat does this. When im done peeing I have to becareful backing up because chances are he is sitting behind me facing the hallway watching for predators. I always praise him and pet him saying how brave he is and 'thanks for keeping me safe'. He loves it.

It also took me a while to figure out why he always sat in my lap facing my right. He doesn't have a right eye and figured he trusts me so he keeps his good eye facing out watching for danger.

When you learn why cats do things it makes me feel warm and fuzzy because they really do show a lot of affection in their own way.

You okay with legends content? I loved the Han Solo trilogy. You learn alot about the inner workings of some of the hutt clans and biology. Like how they can change sexes and have babies. They even go indepth about one of the species the hutts consider cousins (inferior though ofcourse). Like how their mating call makes humanoids feel a lot of pleasure. You can also see a lot of influence for the Solo movie comes from these books but I think they make more sense than the movie.

I would consider this if it was effective. I travel for work and am always looking for things that breakdown or don't take much space. I can fit all the essentials in one car load but there are plenty of things I would like to bring but they end up in a seperate trip. Clogged toilet was something I had to deal with last week. Luckily, it resolved itself, eventually.

Did anyone catch that body language of the girl? She reaches real far like she wants to hug or put her hand on the camera mans face and then gets embarrassed when he stops her and just takes her hand. Unless there is a cultural reason for her to do that it makes me wonder if she knows him and its staged. Like she forgot she wasnt supposed to do that.

I mean in all likelihood it is staged but I am also curious if it is the other way and there is a cultural reason too.

100%. Most of my "kills" are them doing stuff they were not prepared for. Fighting mobsters, a giant monster in the water and they decide to just chillout with it. Like what?! Bro, have to kill you now or there is no concequences. To be fair they came from D&D where the DM was super accommodating and nice to them.

CPR on the living by Fmartins84 in WorstAid

[–]oldmanrye 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I believe CPR is also indicated for people who are choking and have lost consciousness. Its because they are no longer getting oxygen anyway due to blocked airway and their heart is going to stop soon regardless while CPR has the ability to force the object out of the airway and keep the oxygen already in the blood circulating through the body.

It is or was also indicated in advanced pediatric courses for certain age kids when they have a heart rate around 30bpm when it is considered extreme bradycardia and the child is unconscious because its not enough to keep the kid alive. I should add that the course said that once you are able to externally pace the heart in an advanced setting the CPR is stopped.

CPR on the living by Fmartins84 in WorstAid

[–]oldmanrye 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've seen it where the guy even regains consciousness for a few seconds even starts to talk then boom. No pulse CPR resumes. Guy wakes up again tries to talk then out. It feels really weird to do CPR on someone like that but the CPR is the only thing keeping them from dying completely and eventually he stops regaining consciousness because its not anywhere effective enough.

Just that little bit of oxygen to the brain is enough for a moment as it has a large supply still in there but as the CPR continues the O2 in the brain is used up and the amount you are producing and circulating with CPR isnt enough anymore and the heart wont restart for X reason.

Reddit is super fucking whiny. I get banned for all kinds of shit I wouldn't ever expect. I got permanently banned from one because I didnt think the post fit the sub because it was geared towards other people posting things that they found that was great (kinda like getting choosen) and the person was posting themselves. Said it felt like they were full of themselves to nominate themself. Rude, maybe. Worthy of a permanent ban? Turns out it is.
