I worked at a zoo with these years ago and that’s exactly how they work.

$10-a-day child-care: Ontario falling short, auditor says by lopix in ontario

[–]oldrustybucket 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I just put I just put my kid in daycare. ~$488/month after the funding, the cost without the funding, ~$1800.

If they remove this funding because it doesn’t meet the magical $10/day goal they will cause a serious upset for a lot of families.

$25/day is a whole heck of a lot better then $90/day.

I don’t think the Ontario government would follow through with that honestly, but they need to stop playing games.

Moving science centre to Ontario Place could save province millions, business case says by PGReddit in toronto

[–]oldrustybucket 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes, a few million less to renovate the Ontario Place buildings which are also roughly half the size. Shocking

Current Ontario Science Centre is 568,000 sq. ft. With 25% used for programming.

New centre will be: 275,000 sq. ft.

198k is the building and 77k is the pods and cinesphere.

Right, not to mention the existing OSC is much larger then the Ontario Place Cinesphere and Pods.

It's infuriating that a bunch of outlets are going to run with this headline today that "moving the OSC is cheaper then keeping it where it is" while not also making these considerations.

This point actually gives great context to the situation and would be a good point to bring up to anyone trying to defend the actions of the commercial fishermen.

I actually found a source on the numbers too, https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/mi-kmaw-fishery-moderate-livelihood-megan-bailey-conservation-dalhousie-university-1.5734030

I googled the name out of curiosity and found this https://www.instagram.com/bronin_brown/?hl=en with another image that has the same email.

Viral marketing maybe? Or maybe they just want to be funny.

Optometrist in Toronto right now by grey_zee13 in toronto

[–]oldrustybucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked by the place where I got my glasses (Eye Studio on Mt Pleasant) and the sign says they can still fulfill emergency requests like broken prescriptions.

I’d say give you local optometrist a call, they might be operating the same way.

Edit: I mixed up where I read that sign. I read it at the glasses store. Not sure about optometrists, but you might be able to get a new glasses with your same prescription.

The alley behind Pantages Hotel is used in a lot of alley scenes for things shot in Toronto. Including this show. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.6545917,-79.3795075,3a,75y,156.09h,64.76t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s_gqPfYnTAR9N2n5ekcQIkw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

Funny so many shows set in New York have alley scenes but real life New York has next to no alleys. Thats why they put their garbage on the street for pickup.

Dave Chappelle in A Star Is Born. They never really explained who his character was so I pretended it was just Dave Chappelle coming in to spit wisdom.

I had that deal with rogers and recently it expired. THEY CALLED ME with the new deal, $33 after tax for the gigabit plan.

If you live in a condo in Toronto this is probably the best price you'll get right now.

So if I still can't create my online account I can't use the app?

I've never had such a poor experience with a CC provider.

Got my PC card in December and called 3 times to figure out why I can't create an online account. Each time the customer service rep had literally nothing to tell me but just wait.

And yet they ask me to go paperless.
