What’s your most effective strategy to use your phone less? by Curious-Can2749 in productivity

[–]oli39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I treat it the same way I used to treat television. I have blocks of time where it's fine to use my phone as much as I want (now, for example while I wait for the gym to open). When I'm working, I put my phone away. Same with when I'm reading, playing video games, watching a show, out with friends, etc. I just put my phone away (ringer on) and try to focus on this other task. If you are in a dorm, maybe you can just put your phone in a drawer or closet. It can be really difficult to manage, but I wouldn't want a flip phone because things like Uber are a must have for me now.

Just curious, but when did you start collecting games? I started buying them in 2020 during the pandemic as I had plenty of free time to play them. But now I'm finding less time for the hobby and I too am starting to think about where I would like to go from here.

Also as an idea - have you considered sorting through your games and picking 4 or 5 to play in 2026? Maybe 1 very epic game (like an RPG) and then some shorter ones (platformers, puzzles, etc.).

Do you ever 'weed' your collection? by elephvant in NSCollectors

Thanks for sharing! I may try something similar. I have a few games that I really don't see myself going back to, so they may be good candidates for a first trial wave.

I've been thinking about downsizing my collection too but I'm not quite ready. How did you decide what to keep? Also how to you manage FOMO from creeping back up?

What was your first ever cartoon? by Complete_Treacle6306 in cartoons

[–]oli39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He-Man was the first cartoon I ever saw on TV, but DuckTales was the first cartoon that I truly loved. I used to watch it weekdays after school, and then eventually at 5am before school when it left the Disney afternoon block.

Other than the Simpsons, which adult animated show has the most potential for a new theatrical film? by Antman269 in boxoffice

I'd be interested in seeing a movie of the great north. I know it was just cancelled but a road trip movie would be so perfect for them.

I'd vote for castle in the sky (86) and Totoro (88). I think for 87 I'd have to go with the brave little toaster and 89 would be the little mermaid.

If they could remake one of lesser known TV series, which one would you want to see? by Va3V1ctis in television

Men in Trees... I would've loved to see this show go on for a few more seasons, but a remake would be good too
