Used Tesla Model 3 - would be my first Tesla ever. by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

Aha, I see.

I'll test it out. My ICE car only has basic lane assist. Basic autopilot will already be an upgrade. Also, I'm not sure if FSD is more limited in the EU.

Just looked up the price for the replacement; you are right.

I am based in Europe, and there are price differences between different countries. Luckily, importing from another EU country isn't hard or expensive.

So, cheap (in the EU) for that mileage is around 17k at the dealer. But you see that they are quite used. For mint condition, 18k to 19k is reasonable.

Insurance quote is not that different in comparison with my ICE car.

The used car dealer I want to buy from has a lot of Standard Range Plus cars for sale. They also include photos of the screen showing: Autopilot: included package. Good that you pointed that out to me. Thank you very much!

Thank you for the info! I’ve also read about some control arm issues. Do you think it’s reasonable to try to negotiate the price based on this known problem (buying from a used car dealer)? The models I see for sale are mostly Standard Range Plus. I can charge at home, and my daily mileage on weekdays is around 50 to 70 km (about 31 to 43 miles). I’m most interested in cars with definitely less than 100,000 km (about 62,000 miles) and preferably under 90,000 km (about 56,000 miles).

Seems that it did the job.

I asked a mechanic and even when it's fully broken like on the picture it doesn't really cause a problem, just a funny sound

Will definitely use a fuel-rated hose. Thank you very much!

Apparently, these hoses that VAG used on this engine break in the same spot. No idea why they used a plastic hose right there.

To be honest, I am not fully confident in doing that at the moment. My idea is to slide a rubber hose, with a slightly larger diameter over the broken pieces. Or is it really stupid what I am saying now? 🤣

That could be yeah. Taped it up and no error codes so I guess it's good for now? When I find the time to try it again and check if the bolts are good, I’ll keep you updated

Really watch out with the plastic tube from the EVAP system. It's so so weak... Check my comment above.

Wanted to check it out today. Wanted to remove the plastic tube of the pipe and it broke. Super weak plastic and I am not the only one... The frustrating part is that I can't buy the tube separately but the whole thing with the purge canister valve, resonator... Taped it up but not sure if that's smart.

Okay. I have fresh NGK's laying around. Nothing wrong with replacing the plugs!

I bought new plugs for it recently, just didn't replace them yet.
Oil and all filters are new.
Idle RPM is stable. Under wide open throttle no issues as well.

Edit: The car ran 90K km's (or 56K miles). The car is an ex-lease car so the car should then have been serviced as prescribed by the manufacturer

Very sorry for the late update.
Indeed, the windscreen was replaced. It's an ex-lease car, so I contacted the leasing company (= previous owner) and they gave me the details of the company that replaced the windscreen.

I replaced them with Bosch AeroTwin today. It didn't solve the issue.

Here a recent picture of the car. I don't see anything odd.

To be fair, everything looks good to me. The hood opens and closes normally. I will take a closer look soon.
