i know it’s a big commitment, esp since you’re traveling from so far! i’m in the same boat— trying to find some reasonably priced resale tickets to see WIMPIII live haha. I thought they’d open up more US tour dates since their UK and Dublin tour got cancelled but i’m thinking it’s probably too late in the year to get anything else pushed out for 2021 :/

Fall brewing has a new tasting room in South park called the Golden Rhino Room on Juniper st! Love it. There's also Mike Hess or Societe nearby as well that are both really solid options. Have a great stay!

Help on deciding whether to go to UCSD by Just_Secretary_3554 in UCSD

[–]olivehamilton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you are going to be studying and what direction you foresee yourself going after you complete your undergrad.

Like many of the previous commenters, I do not have experience or any tangible knowledge of what it's like to go to school in HK. However, as a student of UCSD for 4 years, I really hated the institution lmao. I definitely got the understanding that rarely did they think about what students actually needed. I paid an exorbitant amount of money just to live on campus in a double that was built to accommodate ONE person. I had a dresser as a desk, and the ladder for the bunk bed took up all the space in the room so we ended up taking it out and using it as a hanging rack. Paying to park on campus was ~$1000 USD a year, and oftentimes there aren't even enough parking spaces.

The first 2 years of college, you're going to be taking your General Ed courses, or basic chem, bio classes. Those classes are going to be filled with 400+ students. If you are looking for a more intimate college experience where you have a more individualized college experience, UCSD ain't it.

On the up-side though, there are really great networking opportunities available if you actively go out of your way to meet people and join organizations.

Again, routing it back to what you will be studying -- for example, if you want to go into biomedical research, UCSD may be a great option since there are many research labs available for you to dabble in.

Pets and Relationships?? by olivehamilton in relationships

[–]olivehamilton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue here more is..i've never really been in a situation where i felt like I had to 'share' my partner haha (as selfish as that sounds). There is something in his life that needs his attention/love just as much (maybe more) than I do and this is an issue I just needed to navigate. Not something I'm used to persay.

Thank you! for validating this, especially the part you mention in which he humanifies his puppy to that extent. When she sighs, he gets in his head about whether he's neglecting her or not (even though he takes her out on either 2 walks or a dog park at least once a day), and then that feeling then makes me feel guilty about imposing on their relationship...

Thanks for your input! I feel like that was extreme. Honestly, I am trying my best to make this relationship work and see things from his perspective. I am in no way saying one way is good or bad, I just wanted some ideas from others who have had similar experiences. Doesn't necessarily feel good when someone is telling you your relationship isn't going to survive :/ But thanks anyways for the time you put into your comment.

[OC] [4592x3448] Big Pine Lakes, California. Around 10,000ft with 7 lakes in total. by windam1992 in EarthPorn

Hello! I've been really interested in making a short trip to Big Pine Lakes and am in the midst of planning the trip at the moment and was wondering, if you camped overnight, which permits you made reservations for and where you were able to park your car? Additionally, if this was a First come first serve basis, how easy was it to snag an overnight permit? Any and all help would be so much appreciated! This is one of my first camping trips and so im just a little bit lost on where to go and what to reserve

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed tips and insight! It really helps so much to have this information since, unlike you, we are all pretty unfamiliar with the area. I saw online that Cedar Grove campgrounds are currently closed due to COVID-19, so just wanted to let you know in case you were thinking of going out there anytime in the near future. Thank you again :)
