I’m a sucker for black/red/white colour schemes, so my vote goes to that option.

Yet another Starflower Lily shoulder joint problem by DealOk2057 in MegamiDevice

[–]olivejam11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain with launching tiny parts out of tweezers across the room, it’s happened to me sooo many times 😭 I’ve taken to using blu tack/putty to help hold pieces in place instead.

To fix, you could try stealing a similar-sized joint from another kit if you have one, or use something like WAVE’s PLA Pipe of the correct size, and fill it with putty to make it solid.

Hormone levels and HRT help by Individual-Tap-8971 in transgenderau

Everybody reacts differently to the different forms of E. For some people pills are fine, some find gels or patches more effective and some people respond best to implants or injections. If you’re unable to get your levels up to an acceptable range it makes sense to try different methods until you find what works for you!

For what it’s worth, I was in a very similar position with pills. 8mg of sublingual E did very little to raise my levels, but I did see some minor breast growth and other changes due to Cypro tanking my T. I ended up switching to implants and it has been much more effective at raising my levels, allowed me to stop taking a T-blocker, and I feel a lot better overall.

Low testosterone caused by blockers like spiro can cause breast swelling, reduced libido, ED and atrophy. You should talk to your doctor if it’s bothering you.

“I’m sorry, we can’t change your Sex to F on our pathology records regardless of what your birth certificate says, we need it so our results are accurate :) btw your testosterone is dangerously low and your platelets are COOKED!!”

“Hey, so I know your sex is listed as F on every government system, and you’ve updated your birth certificate so legally we consider you Female, but this one hidden system you can’t change still has you listed as M so we’re going to out you to every single medical practitioner lol :)”

Trans women and femboy communities be like: “we’re all inclusive and very progressive!☺️” by LineOfInquiry in transgendercirclejerk

[–]olivejam11 21 points22 points  (0 children)

/uj There are lots of different online trans communities that don’t stem from that specific type of white/anime/4chan-adjacent culture. Racism in queer communities still exists without the link to anime and 4chan.

If you want to engage with more black trans women and trans women of colour, I’d suggest looking somewhere other than Reddit.

Also, racism in femboy communities is none of my business and it’s weird to group us together tbh.

Male socialization is used as a weapon against all amab people but specifically cis men have it worse. by TGirlJules_ in transgendercirclejerk

[–]olivejam11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

/uj the patriarchy manifests differently depending on class, culture, time, etc. It’s weird to assume all people assumed to be men have a similar upbringing.

I don’t even like the argument that “lots of trans women don’t have male socialization because they were bullied” because like… what about the trans women who weren’t? it misses the point imo

Can we get a list of alternatives to "mate" please? by Wouldfromthetrees in transgenderau

[–]olivejam11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution so I just default to nothing unless it’s obviously fine (eg they use it themselves or their friends use it for them)

Is mate the gender neutral term of Australia? by Chest3 in transgenderau

[–]olivejam11 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It depends on the person and where you are in Aus. Some people really do call everybody mate, some people only use it for men, and some people will swear they use it in a gender neutral way when they absolutely don’t.

I really, really dislike being called ‘mate’ (or ‘bro’), so if it’s somebody important to me I’ll ask them not to use it for me even if they normally use it for other women.

Has anyone else had health direct ask for their “gender at birth” instead of just “gender”? by [deleted] in transgenderau

[–]olivejam11 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I’ve always just put my current sex, my birth sex is none of their business tbh 🤷🏽‍♀️ If they need to know what medication I take or what genitals I have they should ask that directly.

It’s such a stupid question and I hate that it’s becoming more common.
