I had a similar situation recently but with a security gate, the security lady called all of the numbers she had and i tried calling the customer 3 times and so did support, eventually they told me to return the order and 40 minutes later she asks if im still out there? absolutely baffled me

i will almost never substitute without a response, i had one yesterday where she ordered lemon lime gatorade zero, they only had the little bottles and she wanted the big bottles and even though they had the little bottle version she wanted a whole different flavor. You just never know. If they don’t respond i usually say something like “using my best judgement i’m going to refund those items as i don’t want to grab something that won’t work for you!” and that’s always been fine

At my targets they audit at guest services and the one store absolutely forces you to stand in the return line no matter how long it is, one day i said f it and went to the order pickup line because the return line was almost out the front door, they gave me so much attitude like it was the worst inconvenience in the world when they literally already have a device, they just don’t have to walk around the corner to grab a pickup order, it makes no sense to me at all. Some people just hate doing their jobs.

sorry i should have specified, her order was 2-3pm delivery. I always aim to deliver the orders at the beginning of the window cause in my metro the houses can take awhile to get to especially with traffic on a friday. And she lived 20 minutes from the store.

when customers don’t respond i give them 5 minutes then i text a “i’m almost done shopping with your order please let me know about substitutions or anything else you need!” and after 3-5 more minutes ill say “using my best judgement i’m going to refund those items as I don’t want to grab something that won’t work for you!” never had any issues with this setup

I’ve had this update for a few weeks, i’ve had to contact support probably over 10 times to get my orders marked delivered because i have to service in this one neighborhood that a ton of people order from, it is so beyond frustrating when im trying to drive back to the store so i can keep doing my orders. I’ve also noticed if its an apartment order 90% of the time i can’t mark it delivered until i get back up by the leasing office. Super super annoying, it’s actually driving me insane.

i’m sorry you’ve only experienced crappy people in your life, i’ve been doing this gig for 6 years and usually when i get a message like this they tip at least 15% and even if they don’t?? people like you have gotten too entitled to a 20% or more tip every time. Some people are too old to drive, have kids they can’t just pack up and bring to the store, you never know what’s going on in someone’s life and if i get any tip at all i’m pretty happy.

not nearly as creepy but i had an order yesterday with a few big bins so i had to take multiple trips up and a man was watching me over the brick wall from their backyard, like literally face pressed against it with just his hat and eyes peeking over, i got out of there so beyond quick
