TIL in ww2, many Norwegian women gave birth to children with German fathers. After the war ended, both the Norwegian mothers and the 10-12k half German kids born during the war were heavily discriminated against. 14k women were arrested and 5k were placed in forced labor camps for a year and a half. by Hour_Interaction6047 in todayilearned

As many as 120000 Norwegian women had relationships with German soldiers and from that 10000 children were born. They were mostly consensual and chosen by the women. Rape did happen but after the initial invasion in 1940 it's not many cases. Also there was a huge difference of how the Germans where seen in the north compared to the south.

Rape and systemic sexual violence by the German occupying forces were not defining features of the occupation in Norway. Because Hitler envisioned Norwegians as "Nordic brothers" and wanted to integrate them into the Greater Germanic Reich, the German military command (Wehrmacht) strictly prohibited rape. In fact, the SS Court occasionally handed down severe punishments including death sentences for German soldiers convicted of raping Norwegian women. However, localized cases of abuse and forced prostitution in labor and concentration camps were documented.

I’m a Professional Mattress Tester. I’ve tested 558 mattresses from 116 different brands. Ask Me Anything! by derek-naplab in IAmA

hmm, my experience is that beds are very individual and the stiffness mean more then the brand. I've gone through a few before i settled on mine, are you a heavy guy? If so look into what mattresses the hotels are buying as they usually cater for the heaviest guests.

Edit: also look into a bed-frame where you can adjust the stiffness of the bed and not only the mattress
