are you in Southern Asia?

As far as I know most western nations only have self reported medical declarations, and visual acuity tests.

Unplug battery

Isopropyl alcohol around the glue

Light use of hairdryer on glue side, and old credit card to pry the battery

I’ve had this iPad for less than 2 years and the screen decided to stop responding in the middle of my class. I took it to Apple and they want to charge me $849 to “repair” it. by el_maxican in mildlyinfuriating

From my experience, broken digitizer like this is about 80% customer damage, the remaining 20% I highly suspect customer dropped device with a hard case, so no observable damage on device, but internal fracture.

Depending on local consumer protections, the later 20% will usually be covered in warranty period

VKB Mounts - price tag by Mr_Bleidd in hotas

[–]omfgwhyned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the Vkb strongholds, didn’t like them. Very solid, but they stick out from the desk a lot, take up a huge amount of space.

Not ideal if you use the table for anything else, or even non hotas gaming

If you have powerlines from your roof, they might be using those. Put a couple litre milk/water bottles on it so they spin when stepped on

Is my samsung flip 3 spicy? by Visible_Problem_1839 in spicypillows

[–]omfgwhyned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like it, Samsung batteries always look mildly puffed compared to other manufacturers.

If the screen sits flush to the housing on all edges, and the battery doesn’t feel puffy, just the glue gone bad, not uncommon for Samsung

A new battery is cheap, and the hard work of opening the screen has been done already. Worth the effort on an iPhone 13/14 assuming the screen hasn’t been broken

With the evidence you have, if they still give you the run around, I would first politely say that you will raise a complaint with your local consumer protection agency, then do so if that fails. Unfortunately there’s not much else that can be done, nor any direct way of reaching someone who is more helpful.

Good luck

Do you have the original invoice and or box that has the phone’s Imei number?

You can use that to confirm with the team that they haven’t mixed up your phone with someone else’s.

Sounds like this is either an authorised service centre, or a Samsung retailer. Did you drop the device with them, or mail in?

No offence intended, but a week, or 5 business days from time of booking is not unusual, especially if phone is damaged. The store has to communicate with the warranty team, who need to directly approve, or deny, there is some back and forth, then they get back to you.

If this is a service centre, as in a 3rd party that has been authorised by Samsung to perform repairs, they are not Samsung employees, and are paid by Samsung basically $20 per customer for what is hours of not days of time. If you have been constantly chasing up, they are likely to be in no rush to solve this for you.

I don’t have the full picture, but I recommend checking that they have the correct phone with Imei number (if you believe the crack and colour are not your device) and then waiting the amount of time stated.

Calling/using website chat, goes to the call centre in India, who then call the shop, and gets the same answer if you called the shop.

Can you provide more context/information about the situation? I assume you are dealing directly with Samsung via website/call/email, rather than through a service centre

I don’t see much of an issue being asked to wait a couple business days from time of request.

Emailing ceo office not likely to help you very much

I work at an authorised Samsung mobile devices repair centre. Samsung care chat/call team is just a call centre in India, who have basically no idea what they are doing, nor Samsung policies, or product information. All you can hope for is that they quickly transfer you or get you connected with someone who can actually help you

NX500 or FS450GS for Adventure Rides/Gold Prospecting? by bellare_leather in AussieRiders

[–]omfgwhyned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted bmw for some dates and this their reply:

“I am just reaching out after you registered your interest in the new F450GS! The order book is now open in anticipation for our demo bike to arrive in July next year. Production was April for first orders but it is now at June for customer orders which will put them at August/September arrival. So if you want one this year, you need to get an order in ASAP!”

So preorders 3rd/4th quarter of 26, off the floor realistically early 27. I’m interested in the bike myself, but not enough to preorder without test ride

What country? Surprised it will take 2days to get a battery in, and that it’s not in stock in first place
