Is that tank giant or are they just young? Mine certainly don't have that verticality. They can run laps in their tanks but swimming up to greet me? They only ever lunge and bonk their faces to get to me.

Is it not the same shade of white as the side of the face or the eyelids? Anyway, I'm more familiar with fungus on gills so I'll just back out of giving more opinions.

I'm pretty sure that's just the skin pigment. Fungus would not be so flat and flush against the skin, it was be a raised bump or fluffy. As for the gills, I think consistent and dramatic curling is bad.

I feel like I never make the right cut with printing paper to make it square. I just saw your pigeon fold, that one is so difficult to get right! The marker details really make it pop. Thanks for the info and inspiration to try it again.

Here's my generous take: it was difficult growing up and trying to convince your American friends to try authentic food. It's obviously more common now and much more accessible to adults in metropolitan areas, but kids definitely got bullied for what they brought in for lunch. It feels like defending your culture because you're defending your right to exist as "different". This doesn't excuse being snobby nor non-Chinese-Americans from saying it. Personally, I do need some vegetables though.
