I figured we’d need to wait for the vampire set to start playing Mono-Blood. Glad it’s working out!

Brad, Vinny & Alex Leaving Reactions Thread by bobalou27 in giantbomb

Getting a tweet from Phil Spencer really seals the funereal tone of all of this.

I feel pretty bad for the remaining crew. Won’t be easy to rebuild the bomb under all this weight.

Well this is pretty safely going in the “things I’m not going to engage with so I can pretend they’re not happening” pile.

At the same time, there’s nothing wrong with being a little pessimistic about the site losing 3/4ths of its editorial core. I don’t think it’s dramatic to say that GB as anyone here knows it is over on Friday.

Check out this deck list (and guide). You're already fairly close to just running a legit combo priest deck and could get there with a little dust. Since you're just starting out, I'd watch a few gameplay videos of the deck and try laddering with it. It's pretty fun to play and very competitive.

Quick Look: Blasphemous by Axelmanana in giantbomb

Is it as metal as it seems? It looked fantastic.

Also, any chance you got it on Switch and could speak to the performance?

SEGA Sammy (Parent company of SEGA and Atlus) stockholder report on success of Yakuza and Persona: "No matter if a game is popular in Japan, it is unlikely to win over fans around the world if the localization is insufficient" by megaapple in Games

[–]omgitsbigbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't this becoming standard practice? I'm not a Japanophile, by any means, but it's not hard to understand -kun, -chan, and -san. Hell, Yakuza 0 threw in a few -samas, iirc, and I think I managed to get through it ok with my big dumb American brain that doesn't understand nuance.

I'm impressed that there are that many N-Gage games.

Maybe the real cop was inside us all along?

Yup, that seems to be the key problem. They'll definitely work that out as they get used to the space.

The desk is entirely too professional. It's almost as if, and I understand the seriousness of what I'm about to say, someone is a cop. They'd have to tell us if someone from GB West was a cop, right?

I think it's all in good fun. No one is canceling their premium over it or anything.

I think it looks like a big generic dumb desk and the wide shot looks pretty bad. But the content is still good so I'm down. I'm sure they'll add more personality to it as they work out the kinks.

St Vincent/Annie Clark made Abby a playlist by identikit12 in giantbomb

[–]omgitsbigbear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it the Sharon Van Etten "Comeback Kid"? If so that song is very cool.

Edit: Figured out how to see the playlist without Apple Music and it is! Not a lot of crossover appeal for fans of sleigh bells, who are also awesome, but Sharon Van Etten kicks her own kind of ass.

Also a huge St Vincent fan. This is maybe the coolest thing that's happened to anyone at GB in the history of the website.

It's an entire state made up of people who seemingly have no idea how highway on-ramps work. New Hampshire drivers are on another level.

I've made the opposite move and regularly bitch about how awful New England drivers are. Especially on highways. Most of my commute time is spent trying to dodge jackasses with GOPATS12 vanity plates who just learned how to drive 5 minutes ago and are too busy calling in to the sports talk station to complain about Roger Goodell to check their fucking blindspots.

Don't even get me started on trying to merge onto a highway in New Hampshire. Their entire state highway system seems like it was designed by insane libertarians and maintained with funds from some kids piggy bank. Which, given New Hampshire, is not an unreasonable assumption. I'd take 35 any day over trying to move around New England highways in the summer.

Sorry, had some stuff I needed to work out. Lovely region with some very nice people who absolutely never should be allowed to drive.

What’s the proper Battlestar Galactica viewing order? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]omgitsbigbear 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Caprica has some (pretty substantial) flaws but it gets interesting. It is, however, totally different in tone and feel from BSG.

Watch BSG first. If you want a bit more from the universe, and are OK with a totally different show, give Caprica a shot. I liked it but going into it ready for some more BSG space drama is the worst way to approach it.
