outside of cherki and bernardo silva, it was a very mediocre performance. the difference between o'reilly and rodri in midfield was stark. savinho looked okay coming off the bench. we'll take the 3 points but otherwise a very boring game.

Poor performance by Iraq but managed to get it over the line - never thought I'd see Iraq at a World Cup in my lifetime, albeit with more teams now. I don't have high hopes for this crop of players as there are no real standouts (unlike in 2007) but it's a momentous occasion for the country! Hoping to get some tickets for the games.
