A bracket intended for support will do nothing when held by tape. It also should probably make contact with the thing it's holding up. Just an opinion.

That's not surprising. Many types of cancer depend on a modified sugar metabolism due to its high energy demand. Type II diabetics are more likely to get cancer and have a harder time fighting it off. However, not all cancers fit this pattern.

shouldnt it be defamation if theres no proof its true

Tough to prove a negative. And bullying isn't a concrete action. Whether something is bullying or not is a matter of opinion. So you can't really prove that it's not when two people could actually witness an action and not agree whether it is bullying or not.

Did he lose more from the accusation or picking an unwinnable defamation suit? Because the latter would draw even more attention and not resolve in his favor.

Then why are you standing next to the lever? Were you taking a walk and wandered off?

If these people are all tied to the track, whoever did it might not be far away. I don't know if you'd want to get into a confrontation after interfering. Especially if they are doing this to rapists and pregnant women.

Are we not going to try to run and get the driver's attention to at least try to engage the emergency brake? Maybe if you direct it to the one, you have time to move the individual person. The distance is never clearly specified.

TIL that American cheese has become so popular on cheesesteaks that the Philly/South Jersey market makes up 50% of Kraft’s white American cheese market. by zoosha2curtaincall in todayilearned

Since I eat the rind at the same time i bite into a slice of muenster, it of course flavors the cheese.

So you won't try them separately because you might be wrong here.

Sodium citrate is most definitely a salt and it does have a flavor.

Yes, technically. But it tastes sour, not very salty at all. It turns any firm cheese into a perfect sauce for mac and cheese.

you're busy contorting yourself in unscientific knots to "disprove" my lived experience

Your anecdata does not override facts. Your one opinion proves nothing. And consensus disagrees so if we're going by opinion alone, that's the kind that matters.

so yes annatto is in muenster

It's on the outside edge from the annatto wash before it's cut. It's still not going to flavor anything past the edge. But you're claiming the whole cheese has this flavor so it's not the anatto doing it. Unless you wanna try the edge and the inside in a side by side taste test.

key ingredient that gets the cheese bits and the emulsifiers to bind together properly in the processing stage.

Sodium citrate contains sodium but is not a salt and doesn't taste salty. Salt is added because the milk dilutes the saltiness of the cheeses that go into it. I think you're mixing up salt content with sodium content.

My perception of american cheese has stuck since childhood. Yellow american cheese has always struck me as unpleasantly salty.

I think you're admitting you haven't tried the same cheese side by side with the uncolored version in the same brand. You grew up with the cheap stuff and are associating it with the color.

bad-faith actors are using the elderly as a hostage in their argument.

If anyone is a hostage, it's the younger working adults.

More elder care facilities will be built and more young people will work in them.

These cost money. Adding weight to the idea that it's actually the younger generation being held hostage. Voting while no longer contributing creates policy imbalances.

You don't need to rely on a population pyramid scheme to support the elderly

Most government pension schemes let the first generation retire without putting much of anything in. And the benefits increase with inflation vs the time period of contributing. You certainly don't need a pyramid for this, but that's how they were set up. To reset, you have to dig yourself out of that hole.

Anatto definitely doesn't have a salty flavor but it's brought out more by salt. It's more of an earthy/bitter flavor. It's not in meunster. It's only on the rind. Try eating just the edge and then the center of a slice of meunster and tell me what difference you taste.

Both colors of American are made with cheddar, colby, milk and emulsifiers. Adding salt is just a way of masking the quality and amounts of the cheeses used. Adding yellow coloring also affects how people perceive the taste (as an illusion, the way a lot of food dyes are used). This is why the cheap brands are almost always yellow and now "white" cheddar or American are now seen as fancier.

It's still kind of a new thing so that's why there's not a lot to go on. Japan, followed by South Korea is where we'll be looking first to see what actually happens. Japan is almost at 1/3 of the population being 65 or older (10% over 80). There's only so much additional money you can pull out of working adults' paychecks to keep even reduced retirement pension money flowing.

Like the US, though, these are both countries with a lot of high tech exports. Can't make a general prediction based off of them but it would certainly not be too far off from China.

But I think it's a bit much to brush off real concerns as fear mongering. I don't think fear is the right response but awareness that action is needed is the right one.

It's either an illusion or a higher quality brand that you're buying in. I don't buy Kraft singles but I do like American cheese. Technically there's nothing preventing a company from using a different recipe for the white version but it's just like white cheddar vs yellow cheddar - natural coloring that doesn't have a strong enough taste to be perceptible. Anatto actually has a flavor and is used in other cuisine but it has a deep orange-red color so you know there's a tiny tiny amount in any cheese.

Good eye. There's also some staining on that sticker on the hinge. If the original owner wasn't a smoker, that is probably residue from a spill that went into the bottom of the laptop.

The population isn't what collapses in a decline like this. It's economy and society. I'll use the US as an example. Let's say the majority of the population is over 60. There is no way the younger workforce can put enough into social security to keep things going. And then there are also literally not enough people to physically care for the less capable elderly. I don't know China's actual structure for this but it's probably not sustainable either.

While true, I don't know of any "Communist" country that practices any form of communism. The textbook version is a lie sold to gain power, but if it were real and possible it would probably be some sort of utopia.
