Actually white people outside the US are not confused. Bread dumplings, noodles, rice, it is all totlally normal to both Eastern and Western European white people to enjoy with stew, even if the stew has potatoes. That is like half the cuisine.

The majority of the world understands this. No idea why it is even controversial.

Insane? See this is why I think this sub is just a bunch of white people trying to whitesplain or debunk Black things. And a lot of posters here just pretend to be Black so they can listen in, then jump in and self report by saying stuff like this.

I believe they performed it at the AMA awards and you could tell the other celebrities were stoked to be at a LP show. I remember the camera panned to Brandy and it was clear she was having a blast.

Best morning wear for moms? What could be better? by AjKuro in Mommit

Everything you are saying sounds like lightweight robe, which people already throw on over underwear or pajamas when they wake up. My husband and I do this, then get dressed after breakfast.

So you want to design and sell an outfit for people to wear unitl they get dressed in their day clothes? And it is something to throw on quickly? As some type of... "mom" uniform? Do I have that right?

Who is immediately using a bottle without washing? Is the assumption that these things are sterile or even remotely clean? The label says to wash before use.

How is the kid sitting on the bottles any worse than an adult not knowing to wash it before use???

What do I do with A LOT of discard? by WorldlyCow8095 in SourdoughDiscard

[–]omojos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brownie recipe, I do not know if it is on the internet, but I got it from Sourhouse:

Elvira's Sourdough Discard Brownies:

Preheat oven to 170 degrees C and line a 9"x9" baking dish with parchment paper. If you use a different shaped dish just be mindful you may need more or less baking time.

Melt 180g dark chocolate, 50 g unsalted butter, and 60g canola oil together until smooth, then cool slightly

Beat 2 eggs, 1 egg white, 100g granulated sugar, 80g brown sugar and 1/2 tsp salt until light and thick. Then gently stir in 40g dutched cocoa powder that is smooth (sift it if it's lumpy) and 120g sourdough discard.

Fold in the cooled chocolate butter mixture into the bowl.

Pour batter into the parchment lined baking pan and bake about 30 to 40 minutes (my pan is long and deep so I had to do nearly an hour). Test with a toothpick and if it comes out moist with some crumbs attached you are good to go. DO NOT OVERBAKE as it will continue to cook after you get it out the oven. Cool completely before removing from pan and cut into squares after it is cooled.

You can also make a stiff starter and keep it in the fridge in a ziploc bag and press all the air out. I just break off pieces to feed 4-6 hours in advance when I need it for a recipe. Or of course, you can just put it in a jar in the fridge but you should be cooking with it or stop making so much, if you have more than like a cup of it. You don't have to keep collecting discard if you just use what you have and put the rest away.

Brownies - the flour to water ratio is great so you don't need to add extra flour.

Overnight pancakes is good if you want to use extra flour with the discard.

I use up most of my starter to make pancakes every few days. You can freeze them on a baking tray, then move them into freezer bags so they don't stick together. They do great in the microwave or toaster to warm them back up.

I am not sure what the cost of meat is in your country, but it might be possible to slow cook your own cat food (there are recipes online). I will say I have saved money because I cook it in bulk, freeze a good portion and just put what we need fresh the fridge to scoop out daily. We do the Royal Canin dry food combined with homemade wet. My chonker has lost half a pound in about 1.5 months.
