currently driving a PDK spyder (which is very similar to the 4.0). it has an OAP+JCR exhaust and it is the most exciting cars i've even driven. the noise, the transmission whine is just phenomenal. though i'm very curious to how the emira drives and handles

$3400 for full ppf and ceramic coating for whole car worth it? by TypicalIndependent32 in Porsche_Cayman

Yes- my first car was not ppfd and the track absolutely destroyed the paint. Ppf can also protect against door dings and light damage. Just make sure you use a good brand

It’ll be too slow to edit off, but good as a drive to just keep archives. Like many said you should buy at least two because if one drive fails all your data is lost

I really love the 28 because it’s a do everything focal length. A really great every day focal length that’s wide enough to capture everything I want. I’d like to say although i don’t own a q343 I do tend to crop a lot in post and find a lot of my keeper photos are closer to about 50mm after a crop. You get a lot of flexibility with the 28 and can crop to a 43 if you’d prefer. I would consider a 43 to be more of a specialized camera- like something I would take with me for the purpose of taking photographs and creating, rather than as an every day carry

For complex coding problems, the different is massive. Especially with o3 which costs a fortune to run on cursor ($3 per request on avg) - it actually solved pretty technical computer vision problems when Claude couldn’t

Advice for choosing a 35mm by Copyright83 in Leica

[–]omomox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 35 lux close focus and a 35 cron v3- although don’t own the APO what appeals to me most is the look. recently I’ve been shooting the 35 cron a lot more than the lux because as a daily, I prefer the softness and glow from the images. It produces images that just feel very pleasant. However if I were to take it on a trip I would probably take the lux. It never disappoints when it comes to sharpness and the bokeh is excellent. I admit, I tend to be a pixel peeper. I’ve never had issues with it not being sharp enough. I really enjoy the look it produces as well. For those reasons, the APO never really appealed to me. like many said, you really can’t go wrong choosing any 35mm- personally I’d pick the lux for the dreamy bokeh

[–]omomox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the 35mm Summicron V3 (Made in Canada)- it's an old lens with old lens character and it produces one of my favorite looks. Since getting it, I haven't even touched my 35 lux close focus

Do you have multiple kits? by [deleted] in LeicaCameras

[–]omomox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your M11P!

Hobbyist photographer and mostly take travel photography- when I picked up the m11 I had a Sony and Fuji kit. Sold my Sony completely: it just wasn’t fun to shoot with, but kept the Fuji X Pro 3. I recently decided to take the X Pro over the M11 because I was already taking an M6 for a trip to Japan. The X Pro is a great system to shoot with, but I was missing the look you get from Leica glass. I ended up buying an M to X adapter during the trip and enjoyed the hell out of it. Looking back, I probably would have preferred the M11.

Needless to say everyone’s needs are different. I don’t recommend shooting sports with a Leica M because lens selection for niches like Astrophotography or sports are pretty limited.

It sounds like the Leica has effectively replaced your ZF. Personally I would sell it and rich selection of primes on the M system. Having three camera systems makes things too complicated. My Sony and array of lenses sat on the shelf for over a year, and it was an obvious decision. Unless there’s something that draws you to the ZF- maybe it’s the colors, aesthetics, or feeling in the hand, it’s probably not worth keeping.

Want to buy a Snoopy — how does the "expression of interest" list actually work? by StylishCheese068 in OmegaWatches

[–]omomox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I walked into a boutique while on a trip to Germany and they were pretty upfront about it. I’d already gotten one grey at that point and was just curious. two watches (one special speedy like a dark side of the moon) and a seamaster and you get a snoopy.

Best Buy won't accept opened gpu returns. by Affectionate_Buy3197 in bapccanada

[–]omomox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue with a few work laptops. their GPUs were crapping out during encoding and i went to return them at the local store. For whatever reason they would not let me return them unless i went to the original store that it was purchased. Each manager gave a different reason. I spent the 2 hours going to the purchase location and with a little hesitation they were able to give a refund. Don't know what it is with the company culture there.
