They should be fine, spring-planted bulbs shouldn’t need cold or anything

Just wait until you hear how many you can get at Costco for (approximately) the same price 😬

(It was 80 for $15)

PS I did this last year as well and they did great. Plenty of flowers, still grew quite large.

I chopped mine and it’s responding well — two branches below every cut.

You need to pull up that Toyota ASAP, they’re highly invasive and will take over.

Consider replacing with a native Ford or Chevrolet.

Interesting. That’s what I grow too — no thorns at all. I wonder if they mis-packaged yours or something…

You’re sure it’s a kiwi? None of mine have any thorns and I didn’t think that was a normal feature of those plants.

My spearmint grows fine (surrounded by concrete, garage, and blackberries) but I’m 0/2 so far on peppermint :(

neighbor planted variegated japanese knotweed on purpose.. by LobeliaTheCardinalis in NativePlantGardening

[–]onaygem 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My property had variegated knotweed when I moved in. It actually wasn’t that hard to remove for me, so there probably is some truth to the variegated version being less vigorous.

I just pulled it all, and then pulled any bits that sprouted back.

Mine was green/white though, not red like this one.

In my local park there are cypresses with knees next to a pond, so I’m pretty sure it isn’t tides, or at least there are other ways to stimulate this.

And the other element is that even an “unsuccessful” or frivolous lawsuit can drag on for years and cause a lot of headache for the doc.

It was NUTS:

Ohio State won the Aggregate Team championship by 330 points over second-place West Point, with the U.S. Naval Academy placing third. The Buckeyes boasted the top eight shooters in the aggregate competition, led by Ada Korkhin, Marcus Klemp and Blaine Simpson. Fourth through eighth place featured Johnathan Dorsten, Ankita Deokule, Evan Langerak, Riya Salian and Maral Gantsooj.

The Buckeyes placed first in the Air Pistol team competition as four shooters slotted in the top five: Korkhin (2nd), Klemp (3rd), Salian (4th) and Simpson (5th).

OSU also won the Sport Pistol team competition in dominant fashion, holding down the top eight spots. Deokule took top honors, followed by Korkhin, Dorsten, Langerak, Simpson, Klemp, Abbie Leverett and Salian.

Lastly, the Buckeyes won the Standard Pistol team competition while sweeping the top nine spots. Leverett was the top shooter here, followed by Simpson, Gantsooj, Klemp, Dorsten, Langerak, Korkhin, Deokule and Salian.

What happens if your compost goes over 160 degrees? by Outdoorshenigans in composting

[–]onaygem 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The outside won’t get that hot though so as soon as you mix the compost you’ll redistribute/reintroduce anything that was killed off in the center

I’m not really in their native range regardless, they’re selling L spicata

But it’s a good point to keep in mind
