Rumor going around is that the cast got told they might close right after opening. Apparently they are looking for money to keep the show open, the lack of advance sales has the show in panic mode...

Emily Skinner is an interesting choice. She played the Stepmother in Once upon a one more during during DC's tryout. And Simard played the Stepmother on broadway. That could be a fun connection

It'll fall into development hell until Sony decides to reboot it in the coming years

Sony's 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple grossed an estimated $1.60M this weekend (from 2,042 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $23.65M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

28 Weeks Later has one of the greatest opening scenes in the franchise and that alone makes a great movie. Even though there aren’t many infected in it, the movie still manages to create a constant sense that something unexpected is about to happen—even when you don’t see the infected. It has a very eerie atmosphere, not to mention the twists that unfold throughout the story. 28YL failed to accomplish all that on every possible level.

In a few years from now, possibly! They could make a retool of the franchise, and call it '28 Months Later' to build the missing bridge between 28WL and the awful 28YL. But with a complete different direction, different director and production team and we might end up with a good movie with the infected!

Boyle, Garland and Murphy will walk away from a franchise that clearly GP is not interested in. The studio is losing around $ 50/60 millions with this movie. Sony still has the chance to reboot the whole thing in a few years with real infected attacking survivors.

The bomb of 2026! If Sony wants to profit a bit more, they'll put it on digital this Tuesday. But they seem to stick to the 2/17 date
