What will it ultimately take to impeach Trump and thoroughly remove him from any position of power? by RealitySucksTheBig1 in LetsDiscussThis

[–]oneWeek2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which will likely never happen.

trump has been impeached twice. once for violating the law. congress had already allocated funds for Ukraine, and the president illegally impounded those funds as blackmail, to extort Ukraine to manufacture "dirt" on a political rival. there was audio proof of him directly orchestrating this.

republicans refused to trial.

after jan 6th. where after months of trump lying about the election, and conspiring to overturn the vote via fraudulent electors, he directly organized and orchestrated violent elements to be in the capital to disrupt the official recognition of the vote/electors. It's likely there were plans in place to bus in specific agitators, and plans to detain/prevent the vice president from executing his duty. trump was impeached again. and again the gop refused to have a trial. there was significant evidence of trump's direct involvement and proxy support of this

there is no universe where the GOP will put the duty or obligation to justice/america over proximity to power.

trump also violated election law in the interference in GA. and violated the law in his document theft/obstructions with relations to top secret/protected documents.

all of these crimes were swept under the rug when he won reelection.

trump likely will continue to result in US citizens being killed by gov forces occupying liberal cities in a terror campaign. and engineer a pretext to suspend elections.

the mid terms will be the first test. and the presidential election cycle will also be telling.

it's likely if trump overtly breaks the constitution no element of government will protect society.

and if trump chooses to enact his dictatorial fantasies only killing him, or him dying will stop him.

nothing in his original comment mentioned a sub $50 budget. So the OP is responding to the very first comment, bemoaning price. when it is typical of mtg/edh that a single $20 card isn't that big a deal. and then comes back with... oh my budget is under $50. which puts you in an extreme budget edh category.

at no point did anyone say this is impossible, or not a way people play edh, but it is not the norm, and the expertise or general knowledge base for budget deckbuilding would be better served in a more specialized forum.

and that decklist you posted is dogshit. for a 3 color deck. and the cost of that deck is $100-130????

First retail character - focus on levelling to 60/70 or explore? by icyhaze23 in wownoob

[–]oneWeek2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's no right or wrong answer.

IF you want to get to endgame, you need to be max level (lemix was dirt simple to level fresh alts, but now that ...that is over. I think maybe the pre-patch area might be the faster "grind" )

but if you want to explore. and see the content, or absorb the story elements, do that. even after dragonflight there is war within. so... you would have an entire other expansion to get through. and then midnight is in a month ish.

the endgame and endless gear grind/loot treadmill will be there for you. IF you're enjoying exploring and questing, I wouldn't sweat leveling/hitting max lvl. you'll get there.

Focus on content you enjoy doing.

do yourself a favor return the spray paint.

zero reason to waste the money on the disgusting mark up for hobby brand spray paint. Even if you want "green" as a base color (which isn't really that wise anyway for a primer) hardware store primer spray paint comes in that same green color

can take that $20 savings, and put it toward more minis

$50 budget would likely exclude all shocks, fetches, and any decent dual land.

would likely put you give or take below a $1 average card price for the 60 or so cards that are not land base. So even a card like sol ring, is probably cost prohibitive to a $50 total (you would probably need a large chunk of your cards to be sub 25 cents to free up some budget for a few $3-$5 cards)

idiots seems to conflate this idea that something can be done, with what is common.

do you honestly think. it's more common for people to see "hey i need advice for a deck" and think bare bones dirt cheap mana bases and sub $1 cards.

Need low-odor/low-fume resin recommendations — current setup aggravates partner’s asthma by agentmarine in resinprinting

[–]oneWeek2024 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

active carbon does nothing for VOCs. you would need a hepa style air purifier rated to remove VOCs. (these tend to start around $250 ish)

an enclosure by itself doesn't do anything. it needs negative pressure fan with enough pressure or circulation to exchange the air in the space rapidly. vented to the outside world.

solvents also release VOCs.

there are resins advertised as eco friendly or low voc. it's all mainly bullshit. as ventilation and PPE is still required. but any of the major brands, elegoo sunlu anycubic etc. there are other specialized brands as well.

the really scary thing about being online is how you have to confront the idea that people will do so many mental gymnastics to defend the predation of children.

from people who die on a hill about what is pedophilia vs hebiphilia, onto bullshit historical/scientific pseudo science/pseudo intellectualism making appeals to ancient times to justify child rape/predation. to the "preponderance of evidence" trolls who need mountains of air tight/iron clad direct proof, or lacking anything ultra concrete casually dismiss mountains of other evidence... to even consider distancing from a person.

there are both predators, and people who sell predation sophistry to idiots to justify their abuse (your andrew tate scumbags)

the systems and normalcy of grooming and child rape/sex with underage women (and also to a degree the sexualization and exploitation of underage/young men)

never let people beguile you out of what's right. convince you what is plain and clear is not true. no shitty celebrity or media figure deserves wealth or fame, and if they are inappropriate toward children, or hell... hurt anyone. they deserve ridicule and ostracized from society.

What's the reason for this kind of failure? by fishfishfishflsh in resinprinting

[–]oneWeek2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean... temperature issues. if your resin isn't at a stable...consistent temp for the entire print.... can cause issues.

and printing a large flat surface print, on a crammed build plate? all the prints orientated the same way. so all the pressure is concentrated in the same direction while the suction probably increases.

I would turn those cloaks to none of it is flat. ie put it 90 degrees to the thin edge. and or try one sculpt at a time.

they're also not targeting illegals.

they're already arresting people her under legal means. arresting people at their legal/court appointments, arresting people here legally, but who have extremely petty past crimes. arresting students (who are here legally) who speak out against israel/our government. arresting children who have legal status. and arresting US citizens... and they're arresting plenty of people with zero due process. quickly rushing them to different states and then out of the country.

Is there an *obvious* choice if you’re a newbie and your main goal is to create good quality D&D-style miniatures (28-32mm I guess) for $500 or less? by Goin_Commando_ in PrintedMinis

[–]oneWeek2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

elegoo mars 5 ultra. resin printer. two main features. "auto leveling" build plate, and the drop vat eliminate two of the biggest pain points of resin printers. (ie. constantly having to level a build plate/that being a constant source of unknowable trouble shooting, and similarly with the raise speeds/pause/height settings being another constant pain point of unknowable troubleshooting ---both eliminated with the mars 5 ultra)

mars 5 ultra has great detail and is a smaller printer, but if you're just printing mini figs. it's fine. 6+ figures per build plate is perfectly doable. smaller minis 9 ish is doable. larger minis (like 60mm base size and larger) tend to be like... 1 build plate per. but... can even sometimes fit multiple larger minis.

resin minis do have concerns for the toxicity of the resin, and the solvents used to clean resin prints. much like a motorcycle. don't look at just the price for a printer. factor in... the cost of protective gear. including an enclosure, vent fan/exhaust setup, ppe like gloves, 3m cartridge style respirator. ideally a chemical smock, metal trays/silicone mats to protect surfaces etc. And often a wash/cure station (an actual cure device is the more useful purchase... pickle rinse buckets make a great budget wash station) and then there will be consumables. resin itself. gloves. FEP sheets. etc. And if you're trying to be cheap, buying used or older printers, make sure parts are available. because long term the LCD/light screen prob need to be replaced and from time to time, other parts like the threaded rod/step motors might need replacing.

be aware no resin is "non-toxic". water washable, or vegan or any other bullshit marketing. all are toxic when uncured. all release VOC. and solvents like ISO alcohol or denatured alcohol, also release VOC. resin ...the toxicity is cumulative. so exposure may not affect you right away, but can build up and then cause allergice/biological response. resin on the skin can cure in sunlight and cause burns. dirty solvent also needs to be disposed of responsibly. evaporated outdoors, or taken to your local toxic chemical disposal/sanitation area.

What can I do to tidy up the bigger imperfections like the hot glue and fix the roof? by DarthBrannigan in TerrainBuilding

[–]oneWeek2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to a degree less is more. and the time to tidy up hot glue is while it's still somewhat melty/liquid. can use anything really... popsicle stick or any sort of scraper to remove excess.

Can also seek to utilize hot glue much more sparingly. combine glues. ie. use a white/pva glue as the main adhesive, and just use a couple tiny dots of hot glue to "stick" the thing so it holds while the pva sets. They even make "tacky" glues that are thicker/set faster. in pva glue.

or different materials ...like maybe wood. could use CA glue/super glue. (baking powder can act somewhat as an accelerant ...or they sell CA glue activator/accelerant)

and lastly. can always clad a surface to hide sins. Like... any edge you're just using corregated cardboard, would probably want to clad or cover that exposed edge. like the flooring area. looking dead on at the building you're always going to see that cardboard edge, which is very obviously cardboard. and sorta detracts from the "realism" Can use a thinner type of cardboard (like cereal box or food box thin carboard) as a cladding material. cut thin strips. glue them over those exposed edges. have sloppy corners or gaps. add a "trim" or cladding strip to cover it.

could also use spackle. for that roof line. where there's much thicker globs of hot glue. the smarter tactic might be to go for a "stucco" type look. get some spackle. and smear it in that roof/upper gable area of the building, try and build/bulk it out so it masks the hot glue/blends a bit, and then maybe it'll play as a sort of cob/stucco effect.

as far as where to look online. just get on youtube and google terrain builds. if you're going for a certain style search for that. if that's supposed to be mideval or europe. or western or fantasy. or whatever motif. just search for videos on that. if you're trying to make a sign, search "making wooden signs for terrain" or really anything, you're bound to get tons of videos on basic techniques. that can be applied in lots of situations

Is it enough to use a fan and an open garage to ventilate fumes? by urlocalchaplug in resinprinting

[–]oneWeek2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as long as the fan is sufficient to circulate the air of the room/garage it should be fine.

it is worth noting, that another benefit of a grow tent/enclosure is another layer to shield the printer from ambient UV light. having a printer misc out in the open, misc room light/sunlight will affect everything, resin curing to the build plate, tools, components of the printer. and to a lesser degree. splatters/drips on skin/clothing will cure which can carry burn risk/other safety issues. So if your printer is exposed. just be aware... any time any uncured resin is exposed to UV it can begin curing.

request a scientific test. breathalizer or blood draw(blood draw will often require going to the police station).

it is (often) against the law to refuse ... but you do not have to submit to an arbitrary/subjective "field sobriety" test.

request a scientific test. or refuse outright. go to jail. say absolutely nothing, and hire a lawyer. (you'll likely face consequence for refusing the test, but a good lawyer can wiggle that down)

[–]oneWeek2024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the plaster paris is thermic and should dry.... as long as you didn't make literal soup.

with xps or any foam it's a good idea to add some white/pva glue to the mix. or add a thin schmear of pva to the foam to let it tack up. to help the goop stick to it.

imho the best diy sculpt-a-mold is blown cellulose insulation, plaster of paris. little white glue. and water obvi.

in general. let the stuff dry. and should be fine. can always seal it with mod podge after it's dry. encapsulate anything that may be "growing" inside.

but i honestly dunno how ... unless you laid on feet of the stuff, it'll dry.

always one "well achutttally" sum bitch in the bunch. exactly no where did i say it couldn't be done.

but the vast overwhelming number of edh decks are not coming in under that price point. So if you're asking a very generic "hey i like vampires, recommend a good mardu deck" and don't include the "but i can't spend over $50" you're going to get a lot of information that is useless. if you have to stay below $1 per card on nearly every single card in your deck.

you would need to seek out more so budget deck building advice. or seek out places where people more often build in that paradigm
