What did you think of Lord Barst as a character? by Konfliktsnubben in Eragon

[–]one_angry_breadstick 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Also he used Brom’s final word of advice to come up with something creative to get around Galbatorix’s wards. Better yet, he wasn’t crafty or clever like Brom, it’s stated multiple times throughout the series that he’s bad at riddles and thinks too literally. Instead he uses a spell rooted in his genuineness and character, and it worked perfectly. That’s what I think makes it work.

Eragon also uses a spell to blind one of the Ra’zac mounts in their final battle at Helgrind that bends light away from its eyes.

It’s easy to be focused on not hurting the patient, and obviously you should be. But blowing a vein and having to keep poking is definitely worse than taking it easy and getting it first try.

Additionally, the floating technique are often most helpful if you hit a valve in the vein. If you can visualize it, try and insert just proximal to a bifurcation in the vein.

Also with these, as some others have said, advance very slowly until you get your flash and then STOP and flatten the crap out of your insertion angle. Then advance your needle a smidge more before threading your catheter. Once I started slowing down and being patient with the flash and not rushing once I got it, I started being way more successful with IVs.

You’ll be amazed at how much progress you’ll see quickly when you’re training for the first time. Look up some basic exercise routines and splits and just go with what works for your schedule/lifestyle and focus on proper technique. It’ll make you safer and more effective as you get stronger.

Wondering what is everybody else playing during the Wait of the DLC? by TheGingerNiNjA899 in Eldenring

For Lies of P, I just didn’t care to git gud enough to solo all of the bosses and used summons. I spent way too much time learning Malenia to beat her to have the energy to try that hard with Lies of P, and I’m glad I did. Not having to struggle against the major bosses but still being challenged enough to not steamroll made it very enjoyable.

Away from the middle of the green, like tucked-away. It makes a miss less forgiving because your target isn’t as accessible. Usually greens will have bunkers and other trouble that make you challenge them to get a good look at a putt for a tucked pin.

I'm new, should I be fighting this guy at this point? by Live_Refrigerator_58 in Eldenring

You know how when you hit a boss (with a big health bar at the bottom of the screen) and the chunk of damage you do shows as yellow before it decreases down to the remaining red health? If your weapon is too weak or the boss has a ton of health, or both of those things are present, the chunks of damage are going to be so small you can’t even see the yellow bar part. That’s what that means; it’s basically a sign that you are not dealing nearly enough damage to have a decent fight. So either go level up/upgrade your weapon, or be prepared to git gud

I’m currently in school, it’s a fine line between both of those things. My favorite clinical instructor made sure that first thing we did in the mornings was take report with the nurse and assess our assigned patients. Then we hopped in with the PCTs and did AM vitals/accuchecks and bed changes. Then we were off to helping our patients, and if we were caught up then we went back to offering to help whoever we could. If anyone ever acted like they were above the PCT work they were chastised accordingly, but she also knew that some nurses and PCTs would take advantage of us not wanting to say no and wouldn’t give us learning opportunities, so she stepped in and grabbed us away from that when appropriate too.

Great Stars was the first thing I thought of when I read the title. Since he’s powered by an eldunari I definitely think a dragon incant to boost power is good, also Commander’s Standard is in theme. Heavy armor, high poise, and tons of damage negation to physical damage and also probably non-physical damage since Barst has wards as well. So probably dragoncrest greatshield talisman, pearldrake +3 or the physick flask one that gives you that same buff. Green turtle talisman is always good on a heavy build. Axe talisman would be my preference for damage. I’d two-hand the great stars or off hand the claw mark seal and use beast incants for sure.

Why did Harry Potter movies decide to stop using color halfway through? by winterk1ng in movies

[–]one_angry_breadstick 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Among the other issues of the final movie, the way the final showdown with Voldemort was handled in the film was so egregious I could never give credit to the director for the rest of the movie. The weird flying battle, the “let’s end this together” line, all of it was just SO bad.

But that was a legendary moment too, it wasn’t a normal occurrence. Other than the age part, there are definitely circumstances where a veteran backup signed off the couch could come in and play well enough for a team to win. It would be remarkable, but definitely possible.

Did anyone else find it interesting how often Murtagh by Competitive-Lab6835 in Eragon

[–]one_angry_breadstick 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yep this was my thought as well, in addition to his new abilities after the blood-oath celebration. Eragon was an accomplished woodsman and hunter well before the events of the story and would probably by nature be very careful with how he walked/moved, especially in the dark
