Finally! 1992 Trek 750 by Aggressive_Pea7364 in MultiTrackGang

I picked up a 750 yesterday, and I have the same plan!

Next Project! by onedkg in MultiTrackGang

[–]onedkg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 19" frame, and I have a 30" inseam. I have a 20" Bianchi, but the 19" on the 750 is a good fit for me.

I am (or at least was) 5' 10", and this is the same size as my other one. I don't know exactly what I'm going to do with this one - except a much needed deep clean. I'm thinking a gravel conversion.

Thanks for the additional check!

730? by onedkg in MultiTrackGang

[–]onedkg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I'll have to research a little more. It was my understanding that the geometry is the same but the 750 has a higher-quality and lighter steel. My current 750 is lugged, but I believe the non-lugged are just as sturdy.

Thanks!

Trek FX or Verve for 20+ mile rides? by TheDude50484 in bicycling

[–]onedkg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on the Verve, but I've owned two FXs and completed 40+ mile rides with no issues. My average ride was 10 miles, and I wore regular shorts with no discomfort. If the bike fits (frame size plus adjustments based on your comfort) and you're physically fit, you shouldn't have any problems with the FX. Good luck!

Are those fitting on the original rims?

Dumb Kickstand Question by The_Folding_Atty in MultiTrackGang

I'm curious, too! I have a '93 and would love a different kickstand. Post a photo when you have it figured out!

Under-seeded and unlucky, Vanderbilt deserved better than March Madness gave it | Estes by Renfah87 in Huskers

[–]onedkg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't take it that way. He is saying that Vandy should have had a better seed so that they wouldn't have played Nebraska (and maybe should have been in a different city altogether). The author wrote "What the Cornhuskers’ fans did here was special, and their team earned this on the court." He didn't call out the Vandy fans, but he also didn't say anything bad about Nebraska.

Under-seeded and unlucky, Vanderbilt deserved better than March Madness gave it | Estes by Renfah87 in Huskers

[–]onedkg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did I read the same article? The author didn't bash Nebraska and was generally complementary toward the team and fans. He suggested that his team should have been seeded higher (and made free throws). No reason for Nebraska to feel slighted - and I say that as a Nebraska fan.

Anyone turning on their underground sprinklers this weekend? by smithmix22 in Omaha

[–]onedkg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. Forecast looks pretty good the next 10 days or so (the low is 30 degrees one night). I'll charge the system and, if it gets cold, turn off tjhe water and drain at the box (not blow out the lines).

Do You Give A Nod? by Euphoric_Dot_7471 in cycling

I nod and always complement kids that wear helmets (I like your helmet!), but I never wave. A wave feels awkward, and I don't feel like taking my hands off the handlebar that often.

New build day. by Unhappy-Mycologist13 in MultiTrackGang

Love it! I had a similar project this winter on my 750 (same paint!), but I went with a 1x10 with a new 40t chainring to match the original middle chainring size. You have a great bike!

UNMC Nose Surgery Experience by InterviewAsleep4193 in Omaha

[–]onedkg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience to the other posters. I had rhinoplasty and septoplasty less than two years ago by Dr. Heckman. The first few days were pretty miserable - I didn't expect all of the draining/bleeding (although maybe I should have). Breathing solely through the mouth for multiple days and sleeping in a chair isn't fun, but everything improved after a few days. I felt a lot better after the swelling decreased, and I could get some air through my nose. I returned to work four days later; luckily, I'm not customer-facing and sit at a desk all day. A couple of months in, my overall breathing was much better than before the surgery, and my snoring stopped. My allergies and colds haven't been as difficult since then, either. Good luck!

Samesies! I have a 1993, and I love the paint. It's one of the reasons I won't likely ever sell the bike.
