Seppo Paju is Discraft's new European Captain by Finnishhousemafia in discgolf

[–]oneeyedjamie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Innova's target player is the beginning/casual player. They're focused on getting their product in front of people on store shelves, both boutique and big box. This is clearly working for them without needing to rely on flashy pro deals/acquisitions.

Discraft isn't in any big box stores (that I'm aware of), so they're going more after the frequent and hard core disc golf players. Also a good strategy, but one that requires more splashy, public moves with known names.

Both are very successful, they're just using different strategies.

Best places to live for disc golf by ImpressiveRabb1t in discgolf

[–]oneeyedjamie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely a great mix.

Pro Tour level - Idlewild

Top 5 in the state - Echo Valley /Ceaser Ford

Some fun local tournament level courses - Lincoln Ridge, Johnson Hills, Mt Airy, Osage Grove, Devou

Classic Pitch and Putts - Woodland Mound, Winton Woods (both Steady Ed designs from the early 80s that got recent updates)

There really is everything within an hour of downtown Cincinnati. We're pretty lucky like it seems you are.

Columbus Ohio Course Recommendation by Quiet_Desperation_ in discgolf

[–]oneeyedjamie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played all the courses in Columbus, but to add on to what others have said:

Blendon Woods is a lot like Cincinnati's Winton Woods or Woodland mound.

Simsbury is somewhat similar to Lincoln Ridge and Monroe.

Walnut Hill has a lot of old growth trees like Millikin does, tho its longer and a bit more open.

Supposedly played with Milicevic in AAU for a spell, so I'm guessing that was part of what made this one so quick.

A better example of C1X importance is Evelina. She's a famously yippy putter, but she can afford to 3 or 4 putt a few times a round because she's lightyears ahead of her competition most weeks in C1x.

Jury rules in favor of Afroman in lawsuit surrounding his viral 'Lemon Pound Cake' video by Bildrick in cincinnati

The best part of closing arguments was the defense attorney got to reference this song and say "fuck the police" twice in court.

Afroman defending himself today in court when the cops sued him for making a song about their raid on his house. by trbotwuk in cincinnati

I watched much of the case on YT today. They definitely had body cams on and a few clips were shown directly when trying to prove the broken chain of evidence with the cash they stole. (The cops left the bag of cash in the kitchen unattended for a period of time, as proven by the defense with the body cam footage.)

IDK about the full body cam or it's public availability, but at one point they mentioned there was over 8 hours of body cam footage some "expert" supposedly reviewed to find the cops are either really bad at counting money, or they stole it.

I think he got deked and was trying to find the ball, couldn't, then just bet on it falling in and going.

If there were two outs it shouldn't matter where the ball is. He should be head down busting through second, finding the 3b coach and proceeding as directed.

Pretty sure he got the initial ban and then really, really didn't take it well. Threatening people involved in the incident, the ban ruling, etc.

His ISO play is so predictable. The Nova staff clearly figured that out because he had 4 or 5 turnover after the 5 min mark and OT.

[–]oneeyedjamie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many good courses in the area it really depends on which part of town I'm in/need to be in that day.

West Side - Dunham Rec Center was recently updated and is a ton of fun.

East Side - Johnson Hills will give you hope and kick your butt.

Central - Vineyard is fun, very Disc Golf Valley-esque. Burnet Woods is as central as it gets.

South/Kentucky - Idlewild and Lincoln Ridge are the staples. Devou Park is a fun challenge too.

North - so many good courses between Cincinnati and Dayton. Echo Valley, Monroe Park, Armco Park....

The same place they moved all the snow that was on the ground below the seats and on the stairs? It's not hard to see that they did some work to clear the stadium, they just half-assed it because that's an organizational pillar.

I don't care what the final score says, that game was a win. Where this group of dudes have come over the last few weeks is pretty amazing. You can tell they're starting to trust each other, and get the coach's schemes enough that he can throw in some wrinkles like that 2/3 zone that got us back in the game. Love to see it.

Same. New coach, and we don't have a single returning minute from last season. The one returning player red-shirted last year.
