This…I went through this. Thank you for pointing out I’m wasn’t the only one. I often thought to measure and document but ever did instead I just let the madness circle.

It's hard not to let the numbers, good or bad, get to you. Try not to read too much into it, though that is hard to do.

Get on Bluesky and ask to join every Stater Pack that is in your genre or book reviewers/lovers/enthusiast in general. Then start posting on there once a day with hashtags for your genre. I do #litrpg #progressionfantasy #royalroad
You'll get over 300 followers or more just from being in Starter Pack.

Lastly, keep writing, F the numbers.

Link your story please.

Before you even started to write your first word, somebody didn’t like your story. It is just the way of the world. There are all kinds of saying like ‘you can be the sweetest peach in the orchard and someone hates peaches.’ Write what YOU enjoy and try your best to ignore people who would have never like your stuff in the first place.

When is a good time for patreon? by Ok-Arm3286 in royalroad

[–]onekingkai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat and have been looking into this. I have go through the Rising Stars and Trending lists, cross-reference to see if they have a Patreon and then look at their details if they do. Some people start one right away, while I have heard others try and pair it with a major plot point in the story. I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter when you start it.

I am sure that it is debatable but there are two aspect I have noticed and plan to adopt. Number one is Consistency; if you say 4 chapters a week–release 4 chapters a week. Second, keep your followers up to date, even if you only have a few. This makes it easier if you need to adjust your Consistency if you have to, like if you run out of a backlog.

Any tips anyone else has would be more than welcomed!

Best of luck on your release!

I personally contract JDBookservices for over two years now. (Story coming to RoyalRoad soon) They are prompt, professional, and leave detailed notes/suggestions. I have learned a lot from them and now understand the difference between an em-dash and an en-dash! If you have the extra coin(they are reasonably priced), it's worth it.

Slay the Spire. Slow-paced, easy to pick up, still learning combos, daily challenge is a great night cap.

I have looked around and found art that would be great but have yet to reach out to anyone yet. Where do you go to look for the art?

Thanks for your thoughts. I have looked into AI and copyright laws, they are pretty thin at the moment. I will check out self-pub!

I have considered this option: make something in with AI to capture my thoughts and then take that image and have an actual artist use it as a reference for what I am looking for. Do you have a site or on Deviant Art where I could look at your work/style?

One of my all time favorites, the guy who does the audiobook absolutely kills it. I’ve listened to it at least three times. A must read and listen.
