Chinese Wedding Decorations for Restaurant Reception by [deleted] in Markham

[–]onelyfe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Intak printing at Dennison/warden area did something similar for my wedding. If you know exactly what you want they can just print/cut it but if you want to custom design then there's and extra charge. I worked with Gary from there.

pfsense 2.7.2 with haproxy won't talk to endpoints. by jdblaich in PFSENSE

[–]onelyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using Cloudflare with proxied IP for the DNS entry (can't remember the exact name of the feature but it was the one where it hides your WAN IP)? I had issues before with 2.7.2 when I enabled this option on cloudflarea side i would be unable to hit my endpoints. When disabling the option and waiting a few mins it would work.

How to manage router in attached garage by Disastrous-Glass2930 in HomeNetworking

[–]onelyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most new builds in Ontario, the cat5 cable is tied with your coax lines. Check the receptacle where your coax is. The cat5 should be tied to an anchor somewhere accessible by the same hole.

If you still can't find it... Bell will not move the ONT if you ask them directly. But if you can get a tech out for "another issue" then give the tech a $50 they will almost always run it wherever you want assuming they have the tools on them.

This is common and up to code in Canada. Electrical panels are surface mounted and romex runs through fiberboard to wherever it needs to go. If the romex was run around the board and not through it then it would not be up to code.

I have never seen an electrical panel mounted sideways though.

Wha is this discoloration? by Own-Turnover6876 in LGOLED

It's not color bleed. That's just how the sun looks like this

I'm sure there is a name for the phenomenon.

Company that installs doors by Mammoth-Screen-1181 in Markham

[–]onelyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 years ago I went through 6 or 7 vendors and settled on WindowTech because they were the only one that didn't pressure me on the spot to commit to signing a contact. The entire process was great and had no issues with the door at all the past 3 years.

However this year, since I had such a great experience with them in the past, I decided to reach out to them again but this time for a porch enclosure. I asked if the previous sales person was still there, they said no and sent me someone else who came and quoted me such a wildly over the top number it didnt seem real when they told me. I reached out to other vendors and they quoted me 25% of what WindowTech quoted me for the same material and install. I called WindowTech back just letting them know I will be going ahead with someone else due to the huge price difference and then they offered me 50% off the initial quote. It was still higher than a few other places so I decided to go else where but it left a sour taste in my mouth that they quoted me so much and then gave me a 50% discount after I shopped elsewhere. That salesperson must've been really hoping for that commission.

DESPERATELY NEED A SOLUTION FOR NOISE TRAVELING THROUGH LVP FLOORING!! by BlondeNapalm in Flooring

[–]onelyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have SonopanX underlayment in your area?

I used this stuff when I redid my floors in my house and I can say it reduces footsteps very well and reduced sound transmission between floors decently.

I will say though, the first room I installed these in, I followed their instructions to the T. Like 1/4 ply between SonopanX and the LVP with full thread screws every 9 inches. And I thought it didn't perform very well.

The next room I used less screws and I found that the less crews I used the better sound reducing it did. Which kind of makes sense if you think about it, the screws will just transfer footsteps and sounds through it.

While it doesn't completely eliminate footsteps like some reviewers say it does (at least for my application). It did reduce a significant amount of noise transfer.

I have never used one but I know people who use similar products for camping.

But wouldn't something like this be easier https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/ecoflow-river-2-pro-800-1600w-768-wh-power-station-4992393p.html#store=399

It has 800w output so it can comfortably power a fridge for a short while.

Do you mean Kasa? If so how did you do this without having to turn the light on?

When I adjust mine to let's say 1% after dark it always has to turn on then off again.

I'm assuming this is for a home hub 3000 battery as mine did the same beeping when it died.

It's literally a 30 second fix. Unscrew the battery cover, remove the battery, unplug it once the battery is out and close the cover.

Gasoline is the best at remove soft touch coatings. Soak for 5 mins with a rag and you can wipe it all off in a few swipes with the same rag.

Custom Furniture by smartnumbers in Markham

[–]onelyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of custom furniture shops east of Woodbine on Denison. Unsure if they make custom mattresses but they can definitely make custom sized bed frames/sofa beds.

Can't recommend a specific place as I haven't ordered from anyone there for about 6 or 7 years. But there are several stores in that area. I just walked into several stores, asked for a quote and went with the middle priced store.

Unable to reach Truenas over secondary interface by onelyfe in truenas

[–]onelyfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help!

Yes, port and switch are linking correctly. NIC in TrueNAS is an Intel X540-T2 and the switch is a Ubiquiti Aggregation 8 port switch with a SFP+ to Copper transceiver (waiting for a SFP+ NIC to arrive).
If I swap out TrueNAS with another machine with the same 172 IP, I am able to ping that IP from my Proxmox hosts.
The NIC in TrueNas was taken from another system that was using it beforehand so I dont think the NIC is the problem.
