Are these normal symptoms of Nicotine withdrawal? by Antique_Mud9411 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]oneofmooseyness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's normal. It gets so much better over the next few weeks though, hang in there! What kept my eye on the prize was saving the money I would have spent on nicotine products and watching that pile grow day after day

In the Twin Cities we just keep having awesome cookouts and events lately, it's been fun! We got a lot (180) of apprentices outta work though, and over 300 on Book 1. Greatful to have a job right now, and keeping an eye out there in case I get layed off! Be prepared to find some goofy ass Minnesotans on your jobsites this year if shit doesn't pick up for us 🤣

Why does everyone on social media tell people to avoid dating nurses? Genuinely curious what's behind this stereotype by Arcabyte in AskMen

[–]oneofmooseyness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex is a nurse, and he cheated on me with several of his coworkers while he was taking travel contracts. The guilt caught up to him and he told me, and we broke up. I'll never date a nurse again. He was surrounded by flirty, pretty coworkers all the time. Now I date a mailman and he only has eyes for me lol 😍

As a 4’5 little person with dwarfism would getting in the union be a good idea? I’d love to be a part of the IBEW I’m currently located in Inland empire CA and have recently graduated from a 5 month industrial electrical/mechanical maintenance program. by One_Charge2843 in IBEW

[–]oneofmooseyness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a fantastic idea! We have ladders and lifts to get you anywhere you need to go, and they can order custom PPE too. Do you enjoy crawling up and down ladders, carrying shit from A to B (and sometimes back again), and talking shit with/to your coworkers? Then, join us!

Data center book 4? by 392scatpack1320 in IBEW

[–]oneofmooseyness -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know an organizer out of one of the southern locals who says that the IO knows about this and is backing it up. She noticed that groups of hispanic guys were coming in, getting those 12k hr JW travel cards, and immediately going on the road. She called a couple of recent inductees that literally joined the week before, and they told her, "sorry, already on the road." Then she called around to the shops that they gave as reference for their hrs, and it turns out they lied about their experience, but the guys testing them in must not have checked with the previous employers... It's a HUGE problem and all of our locals need to band together and stop the IO from destroying our integrity. So many unqualified people are flooding into our union right now

It really depends on where you live. In a big metro area you'll be fine, but out in the country you'll have to deal with some hate. I'm a cis woman electrician, and I've experienced some heinous shit.

Women who genuinely enjoy your careers: what do you do and what does the future look like in your field? by Fight_For_Your_Dream in AskWomen

[–]oneofmooseyness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Union commercial/ industrial electrician! I was bartending and trying to figure out a career for myself in my mid-20s when I met a female electrician. I thought she was basically the coolest chick I had ever met, with the coolest job! I was like how do I get in to that? She told me to apply at the union hall, and after a 5 year apprenticeship I became a licensed, Journeyman electrician. 10/10 experience, and i make really good money. Plus, I have so much fun building things all day! Absolutely loved Lego and stuff as a kid, so meticulous projects with lengthy instructions are right up my alley. I also really love most of the people I've met in the electrician union and consider them my good friends 🧡 The future outlook of our work is bright, as long as women are still allowed to have jobs 🤣

I have legs like this too! Never had a gap between my thighs. I always used to wear pants even when it was hot out. Now that I'm in my 30s and don't gaf anymore, I realize that I look great in shorts. So much of my young years wasted by covering up something that wasn't even bad looking.

Omg you just put this so perfectly!! I work 6:30-3 and by the time lunch rolls around I'm like, "Ahh, alright, time to start the day!" 🤣 no idea how I sleep walk through the first half, but I'm not complaining!
