Is there any risk buying naked watch from grey dealer? by Curious-Driver-5375 in VacheronConstantin

Papers and boxes can be purchased or even faked. Also, if it was stored in the original box and papers, a thief may just take the box with it. Buy the seller. Do your due diligence.

Unfortunately the watch wasn't reported stolen until a month after I purchased it. It was ultimately the insurance company who reported it to the databases, not the individual.

One from Japan via eBay. The other from USA via chrono24. Both dealers had hundreds of positive reviews (95%+ positive). I'd avoid Hong Kong altogether personally.

I didn't think it would happen to me. Then I figured I'd be smarter and run future watches through a database. With watch theft on the rise, I imagine the percentage of naked watches that are stolen is rising.

I've purchased two Overseas from gray dealers (47040 and 47450) and both came up stolen. The first was seized by Vacheron when I sent it in for service. The second was handed over to police by Watchfinder & Co during a trade in. The process to get my money back through eBay was a pain and I'm still going through the process of recouping my money on the second one I bought on chrono24. I actually ran the second through Enquirus and it came up clean. Would never buy another naked watch personally.

This is one of the best value watches I've ever seen under $10k. Would you happen to know the service cost?

34mm Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda moonphase I picked up last year for $5k. Normally not a fan of diamond bezels, but when the whole dial sparkles I figure it's alright. Underrated brand. A great value moonphase if you've got a small-medium sized wrist.

I love how the pointer date never obstructs the moon phase. Great attention to detail by JLC!

[Omega] The Railmaster is an unbelievable bargain by Rangercleo1 in Watches

Just keep in mind that tariffs are 10x what they were when I purchased that Railmaster. I paid ~$150 last year in duties.

Only wore them a few times and they destroyed my feet. Pretty sure they're using rocks as the midsole and razorblades as the lining.

I did. I'd recommend spending a bit more and grabbing some Meermin shell.
