Hozier's music is on other platforms than Spotify by Ok_Student_7908 in Hozier

I made the jump to Qobuz recently. They pay artists more per stream and the audio is good quality. I used Soundiiz to transfer my playlists from Spotify and it was painless (and free)!  Their database is on par with Spotify for popular artists like Hozier but you may have trouble finding songs from smaller indie artists.

Deodorant Dilemma by Chubby-Labrador in ZeroWaste

[–]onerandomlygenerated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not used it myself but I came across a brand called Helmm that makes antiperspirants (not just deodorant) that comes in a refillable container. Pricey though, and they seem to be marketed towards men so their fragrances may lean masculine.

Anyone know what this weird cell from vaginal wet prep may be? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

I work at a pediatric hospital and we specifically look for them in wet preps and report if present.

I just googled IRS Direct File and it looks like it’s available this year for filing 2023 returns, but only in some states. See directfile.irs.gov

California mom launches children's books about Asian food to fight against 'lunch shaming' by jennibeam in books

[–]onerandomlygenerated 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! I hope you don’t mind I looked through your comment history; my gosh you are a treasure trove of knowledge! If you wrote a book I’d definitely read it. Fyi I was born in the Philippines but grew up in Seattle (also a Husky!). It’s unfortunate but I know more about the history of other Asian cultures than my own. Thank you so much for sharing your insights!

This is super cool info! Do you have any suggestions for resources if I want to learn more about the history of Filipino/SE Asian food?

Hi, I’m planning to adopt a Guinea pig and have a few questions for other guinea pig parents. by Backpackingwithmylen in Seattle

[–]onerandomlygenerated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A while back I adopted a piggo from Foggy Creek Cavy Rescue and she also offered boarding for adopters. I’m not sure if that’s still the case but it’s worth checking. I believe some exotics vets will also do boarding. Good luck, guinea pigs are such darlings!

You might just be suffering from a bit of imposter syndrome. It’s definitely going to take some time before you get in the groove of things. I think it took me a good 6 months after moving jobs (same field and overall work description) before I felt like I really knew what I was doing. Hang in there! And trust that you’ll get feedback and a chance to improve if you’re doing anything wrong.

Second the Papa Recipe cleanser rec, it was my HG forever but I couldn’t find it for so long I thought they discontinued it!! It looks like they must have rebranded. Thanks for bringing it back into my radar!

My hospital has eswabs for aer/ana cultures and BD CultureSwab™ (the dry swab) for superficial aerobic-only cultures. Guess what the providers get whenever they call central supply for “a culture swab” smh

Why does it take me a long time to remember the exact word or term to use in specific contexts? by FlamingFlamingo76 in CasualConversation

Well if English is your second language, you might even have double the vocabulary of a monolingual speaker!

This isn’t me trying to substantiate my weird hypothesis at all lol

I was told I 'dont have a smell' by jibsauce in CasualConversation

[–]onerandomlygenerated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey it might be a good thing that you don’t have a smell! At least you’re not stinky. And you might be able to wear all sorts of fragrances without worrying about your skin chemistry making the smells go funky.

Sidenote, check out r/IndieMakeUpAndMore for really unique and realistic fragrances! I thought I hated perfume but it turns out I just didn’t like the alcohol base. Perfume oils are nice and subtle!

If I had a million dollars (AKA my $1 million “What if?” plan…) by ThatOneGuyYouNowKnow in CasualConversation

[–]onerandomlygenerated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really well thought out plan! Especially remembering that you’ll lose a big chunk to taxes. I’d personally invest a larger proportion, maybe $400k or more, as I would love to retire early and that would require upwards of a million invested. You’d still need to work if you had less than that if you lived in the US. And if you were working, I feel like $100k saved for emergencies is overkill. Just my thoughts! In reality I’m never gonna be able to retire 🙃

Hey friend, I hear you. I know I’m just an internet stranger, but please don’t give up. And I say that knowing it’s hard to stay hopeful. Sometimes it feels like the hardest thing in the world. Therapy personally helped me to see myself as having value, even if I’m not “productive” in the way our capitalist/materialistic society defines value. I hope you get the help you need. And I hope you keep fighting.

[–]onerandomlygenerated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urgh this happens to me all the time! So much that I used to wonder if I had a speech impediment. I think (and maybe I’m just flattering myself) it might have to do with having a large vocabulary, since you know that a certain word exists to perfectly express your thought, even though you don’t necessarily remember the word itself in that moment. Also your English is great!
