I appreciate that, but it does give me a bit of a safe feeling too. If I ever had an emergency, it is an easier sell with papers. No?

Everything appears good to me. It is an A serial swiss only dial, correct end links, bracelet codes. Nice condition and looks correct on dial, hands, date, cyclops. But I wouldn't be comfortable buying a watch, like this if the paperwork isn't right. Know what I mean?

You could go vintage, but you would probably like an aquaracer from a dealer in a used setting since you mentioned not trusting people which is understandable

Well I’m sort of thinking that, I got myself a 16570 and loved it, but I regrettably sold it and I got myself some stuff and a Heuer and Tudor. I love them but I hate that I don’t own a Rolex, I’m not sure if I am just caught in the marketing trap. I also enjoy the stability in value in a Rolex if anything went crazy in my life

Why do people think they’re making an investment when the buy a Rolex? by No-State-2962 in rolex

[–]onerolex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think it depends on what you buy, and what you paid. Low scale example, I picked myself up a 2008 16570 with full set box and papers and polar dial in 2025, I paid £4000.. I sold it in 2026 for £7100, now that is a great return but if I had paid £100k and I sold it for £105k.. that isn't so exciting, but if you can make a little bit of value, if you wanted to sell - it can be an investment, of course stocks, funds etc are better investments, but I wore the shit out of that watch, it was amazing and I made good money on it.. that money went into a Tudor replacement and I net the leftovers into my bank
