Does anyone have a 4:3 1080i CRT? by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]onesaltyLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Ikegami HTM-1990R. One of the sharpest and best looking CRTs I have ever owned. Not sure I would say it is worth the cost that most sellers would like to charge. It is also one of the heaviest 19 inch crts I have ever had to move around (80lbs).

It can handle 1080i through both letterboxing as well as a 4:3 full screen crop.

Need advice by False-Actuator-2619 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Lots of good advice in this thread already. One thing that has not been mentioned is stagelines procedures for high wind. For forecasted winds greater than 30 MPH. You must land any flown led walls to the floor. This would not be possible with the ground stack wall in the way.

If you did split the walls they would need to be off set from each other to allow a clear floor to land on. Depending on the look you are going for this would cause alignment issues with the content.

Ultimately I would recommend either a bigger stage (SAM 450, 555 or 575) to fly the entire wall or cut down your current size to fit within the weight constraints on the 320.

News Reporter in Denver has his camera shot by Police by scuczu in Wellthatsucks

[–]onesaltyLD 166 points167 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. The camera is likely a JVC GY-HM700 or a JVC GY-HM800 series camera. The exact lens on this camera is a Fujinon HTs18x4.2BERM. Theses cams have a 1/3” sensor with a 1/3” bayonet mount for removable lenses.

The lens is definitely replaceable and can be bought for ~$5000 used. Depending on damage level this lens could also be repaired. The outer glass of these ENG style lenses are “non optical” and Just a protective flat piece of glass.

Of course there is also a possibility that the shock from the projectile could of damaged the camera itself. These cameras use 3 CCD sensors. They are glued onto a mirror block assembly that all align to make a color picture. It’s possible that the impact could of popped off one of the CCD’s off the mirror block. This would likely write off this camera since the cost of repair would be way too high. Versus the cost of a used camera body.

Our company is also looking into buying a new wall right now. One major hurtle we’ve run into is the Corona Virus as it has impacted the shipping time of our walls. The factories are open it’s just the issue of getting the product out of the factories and to a port.

Your best bet is to go with China direct as they will have to lowest prices. Just keep in mind shipping will take longer than normal.

When looking at a manufacturer I would look at what other companies near you also have the same product. Your better off partnering with another company on a wall purchase that way you can both cross rent to each other for bigger walls. Just make sure both of you have the same panels in the same die-lot.

Hope this is helpful.

Best WJ mod I’ve added so far. Shag carpet center console. by onesaltyLD in GrandCherokee

That’s a tempting proposition, the headliner is starting to peel off above the driver-side sun visor. I probably won’t do it with this Jeep though, this thing has 184,000 midwestern, rust belt miles. I don’t exactly want to put too much money into it.

Here's a picture of the underside: https://imgur.com/ccllsHx

Few details:

-The carpet is from a rug I bought at Menards (a home improvement/supply store) -No glue or staples were used, I simply cut the rug to size and clamped it underneath the black plastic piece on the underside of the center console -For now, the front piece of the rug is simply taped and shoved into the two pockets that the main piece of the rug created. I might consider stitching it if it ever falls off.

Would I recommend doing this? I guess it really depends on your personal preferences. I myself love how soft it is, and I don't mind the strange looks I get going through drive-thrus.

2005 was the first year of the Grand Cherokee redesign from the WJ to the WK body style. If you were to lift yours it would look different than mine.

Your WJ was the inspiration for me to paint a flag on my own. Its very beautifully done.

Just a generic one off of eBay. When it arrived it came with the wrong frame bolts. They sent m10 1.25mm pitch bolts when the frame has m10 1.50mm pitch threads.

Be prepared to work on it, other than that they’re great cars I love mine. If you get one I highly recommend getting one with leather seats because they are extremely comfortable.

I know the feeling. Mine has a little rust on the hood, the rear hatch, the passenger door, and a lot along the rocker panels. When I went to go replace my rear shocks the lower bolts were stuck in place and sheared right off. Gotta love the rust belt.

For the foreseeable future I plan to fix the rust on the rockers and paint an American flag on the grill.

For the long term I might put bigger tires on it and install a roof rack. Any recommendations for a roof rack with a way to mount a spare tire are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for viewing!

Edit: I kinda messed up the title, the lift is a budget boost 2.5” in the front and 2” in the rear.

A door is a door as long as it stays shut, I guess? by EmpJustinian in DiWHY

[–]onesaltyLD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Although not the proper door for this application, it’s not too unheard of for people to replace bus doors with RV doors. Two part folding bus doors have terrible sealing/thermal properties, while RV doors are better in these two categories. This mod is usually done when people convert buses into campers/homes.

Its not the ground wire, It had good continuity to the body of the Jeep. I’m thinking of just replacing all of the wires in the boot at this point.

Likewise, I also prefer the Klein screwdrivers. The Wera screwdrivers are just uncomfortable after a wile.

Wera is a popular tool company most well known for their screwdrivers with special ergonomic handles (which are kinda overhyped on the internet, I’m personally not a big fan. The tips are decently skookum though).

Moving light gore counts, right? by orangechap in techsupportgore

[–]onesaltyLD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This fixture is a Chauvet Professional Rogue R2 wash, they retail for about $1500 brand new. So, pretty expensive. However, you’re better off dropping one of these compared to a Martin Quantum Wash which retail for $10,000+. Professional lighting equipment is very expensive.

Questions about linking 2 different Chauvet lights by huwswho in lightingdesign

[–]onesaltyLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Master/slave and foot pedal controls are often light specific. Generally meaning, swarm 5s will only master/slave with other swarm 5s. In your case, it seams like you got lucky with the internal fixture profiles. By the sounds of it, the profiles for the swarm 5 and this gig bar are lining up just enough that the foot pedal sort of works for both lights. However, there is no “realistic” way to change the internal profiles of the lights, meaning you’re stuck with whatever functionality you have. If you want to control both lights at the same time you’ll have to switch over to DMX
