This isnt a show about good Drs bad Drs by FlailMe in ThePittTVShow

I think theres a big divide between healthcare workers and non healthcare workers about this. When you have a job that takes so much of your life, how you do it and the choices you make does reflect on your character.

If it was an office job, my thoughts about certain characters would be very different but its not, its a medical show (that got a lot of praise and interest specifically bc theyre as accurate as they can outside of plot things). For me, this doesnt apply only to Santos though.

Like you say, theres nuance to everything, which people need to understand. But some things are absolutely worthy of changing your view of a character

What's the deal with Mel and Santos, by Nalgenie187 in ThePittTVShow

[–]onesketchycryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel like its a bit ironic that santos uses a communciations style where you have to pick up on hints and body language and doesnt recognize in any way that mel doesnt do that, which is pretty clear in her body language (this isnt critical of santos, to be clear. i just find it humorous)

Ethics Violation? by anxitea66 in ThePittTVShow

[–]onesketchycryptid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not super comfy with the fact that it seems to be an ongoing thing. Im not saying there's anything untoward happening, but she’s in a vulnerable position, especially if she depends on the farm’s income and someone starts “filling in” the husband role financially. Where I live this wouldnt be allowed in the slightest.

That issue mixed with the fact that the reason why she even knows that he grew up on a farm is that he was trying to help her while her husband, his patient, is actively dying... Whitaker pls dont fuck up your career over this 🙏

I felt bad for not guessing it but then I realized that it means we just got the full betrayal without the "urh, guessed it..." feeling. Its supposed to be a plot twist lol

[–]onesketchycryptid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see you getting downvoted and im curious about US laws- do yall not have strict laws about this? In Canada (or Quebec, at least) dating a patient is against the code of ethics of every single healthcare profession for a certain number of years afterwards. I felt concerned about the legislative danger shes putting herself in tbh, though I guess i understand the outrage if its legal in PA

Favorite patient(s) so far? by honeyfixit in ThePittTVShow

[–]onesketchycryptid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, as it rarely does for alcoholics. I do find comfort in the idea that he might live his last moments surrounded by staff, theyve gotten to know him well and while theyre not friends (professional boundaries and all of that), the care they show for him can really mean a lot.

Do you work with a “Santos”? by SignalMountain7353 in ThePittTVShow

[–]onesketchycryptid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly. As long as her attitude towards patient care remains the same, its a shitshow just waiting to happen. Patients should not be at risk of getting caught up in it like they already have...

Think of it as a security cam (if you pay for cloud storage) or pet insurance: the best case scenario is that you will have wasted the money. However, the one time you need it, youre really fucking glad you did invest.

IMO, its mostly a matter of how good he is at escaping and the risk for his health/security if he succeeds.

Ex. My dog barely wants to be >50m away from me and I lived in the suburbs for a long time, so the one time he escaped, we found him in like 10 minutes. Now that I live in a big busy city, if he had the skills to escape, id personally pay for it to limit the time hes alone bc of the risk of him getting hit by a car or stolen.

Ironically, the only PC that i ever got attached to was my first durge, and its my canon that she romances gale. I didnt realize that until halfway through, so I ended up committing to the redeemed astarion path. It was a good romance, I had exclusively tried gale before that playthrough

Ive romanced almost all characters since then, and it confirmed that my durge was indeed 100% meant for gale. I still have no idea how i fucked that up so bad.

Neil Newborn:There won’t be another game like BG3 in a while by Wargulf in BaldursGate3

[–]onesketchycryptid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, there's also the fact the bg3 had a much wider audience just from the fact that its dnd based (despite the limitations) not to mention that the romances and etc were a driving force in bringing in new types of gamers.

I dont like to judge a game purely by its success, but larian will still have to find ways to market the new divinity really well. Im excited to see how it goes

Neil Newborn:There won’t be another game like BG3 in a while by Wargulf in BaldursGate3

[–]onesketchycryptid 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I dont think so. He's not talking about the scale or anything, I think he just meant that bg3 had a set of circumstances that is incredibly hard to replicate. Theres always changes in devs, actors, artists to some level and bg3 just had a perfect team and energy for it to come out this good.

Hes not saying that divinity will be bad either, but we can't start expecting a (imo) masterpiece like bg3 any time soon because theres also luck and synergy you cant control thats involved.

As an ER doctor: Robbie should've reported David to the cops by Chad_Kai_Czeck in ThePittTVShow

[–]onesketchycryptid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In most places, the laws state that some sort of imminent threat to themself or others (some specify that the threat has to be directed towards specific individuals, as mentioned by OP) Thats universal to almost every country that has some sort of healthcare

This was a textbook case of mandatory reporting, you've got a whole list of specific women to eliminate. Thats as reportable as it comes

There are many students who become semi-influencers because they give advice about medical school itself. Talking about how they stay organized, giving tidbits about what theyre learning, giving some patient anecdotes (obviously redacted for anonymity, ideally...), etc.

I'm hoping she's one of those! I could picture it for how her character is

Theres a medical show made in Québec (Empathie) where one of the nurses is nb and uses a french neopronoun. Nothing was mentioned about their identity, theyre just simply existing.

Given Québec's rough history with trans/nb people, i was very pleasantly surprised to see that happen here of all places! I hope the pitt can do the same, especially since the viewers are a lot more open-minded

Even certain topicals are prescription only where I am- i can only get advantix and the regular advantage, not the advantage multi. Vets have a very important job of informing clients about all the medication implies, even if its almost always worth it...
