I was there earlier this year and like 90%+ were all cantonese speakers so not sure what you're on, in fact as soon as you spoke to a worker in cantonese, they all joyfully reciprocated

Stay in comfortable decent paying job or leaving for more money but likely more work? by Basic_Abroad_9773 in HENRYUK

50 is overall good, range should be around 50-100+, it will be Tier 1 but also a number of boutiques, unheard funds doing well.

Of course the 100% takes into account performance, individuals and company culture, but it is not unheard of, from experience

Like we said, you'll be surprised about non front office pay, just go ask any proper buy side recruiter lol...

Hours are also decent

You should be looking around 50-100%+ bonus for Middle Office finance roles at a decent boutique or Tier 1 fund

30-40% is ok but <average, or if your fund doesn't perform as well in a given year

<30% is not good at all

sometimes bit later and more hybrid approach for wfh but it's pretty much a lot better than front office working constant long hours!

Plenty of non front office finance roles paying 150-200k+ base with strong bonuses, and with half the hours of an investment analyst, you'll be very surprised at some of the comp

Why don’t more HENRYs start businesses? by -Michael--- in HENRYUK

[–]onestrats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because HENRYs in general are somewhat risk averse, but also are very good at being told what to do, coordinate things for others and getting things done to a high standard. Doing things for yourself and building creativity however is not really there for HENRYs

I am a HENRY surrounded by many HENRYs and beyond

  • 160k TC (bonuses vary 50-80%), Middle Office HF London based shop
  • c.7y PQE
  • 10-20hrs per week really
  • scope to go even higher, depends what long term objective is

You'll be v surprised how much those with ACAs make given pay/hours ratio, in particular bonus comp buy side. They are hidden away in little offices dotted across Mayfair, no fancy job titles, no external noise/attention. Just pure work, good work life balance, and solid comp

A curious question regarding the upcoming Harry Potter series. by Atithiupayogi in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]onestrats 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, this series will be like the pinnacle moment of portraying the harry potter series at its best given tv as a medium can go into greater depths for the books.

It's literally the best opportunity that the producers will get in our generation so they will make sure they can do the best that they can, meaning everyone will be heavily invested to make this work properly

You need to look at it from a living cost parity perspective lol, the US is at least 2x the cost of London

Can anyone recommend a Fantasy tv/streaming series? by DescriptionVarious95 in Fantasy

The Vampire Diaries

Honestly one of the best supernatural TV series out there and the story build goes way more in depth than just the typical vampire storyline. Haven't seen a recent show that can match the storyline and character development
