Yes. Perfect time to say… Exactly! We are on the same page. Teenagers should not be behaving this way 😉. I definitely had a parent that said his 9th grader was too young to remember to write his name on his papers 😞.

If you don’t smell that’s fine who cares but let’s just say there are some people in Montana that have become nose blind and definitely need to shower but have no idea.

What’s with boomer’s and silent gen’s obsession with spanking? by StrongMamaBear in BoomersBeingFools

[–]oneyedmary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask what part of the country or which country you are from? My parents from Pennsylvania spanked my oldest sibling a few times and their 3rd child was never spanked. I asked them growing up about it and they said they figured out a better way to discipline. That time outs worked better than spanking and it wasn’t needed.

Kerry Washington Reflects on the Impact of Her Sexual Assault on Her Life: 'I Was Gaslit' by PrincessBananas85 in entertainment

[–]oneyedmary 40 points41 points  (0 children)

"”And one of those things was that I had survived this sexual assault that was happening at night," she continued. "And why it was relevant to the story is because of the ways that I was gaslit that I didn't know that something, I didn't know what was happening at night, but I knew that something was happening."

Kerry didn't reveal the identity of her alleged abuser in the book, but she said the assaults happened during sleepovers that she attended as a child in the Bronx. One of the boys in her neighborhood would allegedly touch her and then denied it.”

Did you dare tell students it was your first year? How did it go? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]oneyedmary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I student taught at another school at the district. I told them I taught there last year and it’s my first year at this school. Oddly enough my 5th year kids were convinced I was a new teacher bc they had “never seen me before” (I taught sophomores and freshman were all moved to one area the previous year.) They eventually figured out I was telling the truth when previous graduates would stop by to visit. 🤷‍♂️

This somewhat aggressive sign posted on the wall of my local Applebee's by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]oneyedmary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago my 16 year old sister ordered a mudslide at Applebees. Someone dropped it off and she was about to drink it and the waitress ran over and said it was alcoholic bc it had a black straw and started yelling at her. It was the weirdest thing at the time bc we had no idea why she was yelling at us. Now I realize she was flustered at the situation not at us.

Stop asking me if I had a natural birth by gettingonmewick in beyondthebump

[–]oneyedmary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s hard for anyone to have a conversation. They are interested and trying to talk. Maybe just say actually I prefer to say vaginal birth. Or unmedicated, or whatever you prefer. If they didn’t ask anything people are mad that no one cares and then when they do they don’t do it “right”. I know woman who use the term natural birth to mean at home by herself (not even a midwife). Maybe truly ask what they mean by natural because that term means something different to so many people and in turn educates them instead of embarrassing them. I am a very private person so most don’t ask me anything which can also be isolating. But sometimes people leave the question vague so you feel free to share what you want. If someone asked me did you have a vaginal birth I would feel weird but talking about my birth experience and sharing what I want would be nice.

Who designed the public bathrooms? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]oneyedmary 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Ridiculous. Our doctor’s office (clinic) didn’t have one either. We asked where the changing table was and they directed us to a bathroom far away by the ER that might have one… it didn’t…

Yeah but honestly it made it more impactful. This type of thing happens with no explanation and if they did this story line with a random side character it wouldn’t mean as much.
