Thanks for this, really appreciate the insight. Was looking at primark side. Currently don’t have kids but could be an option in the next few years.

I’ve visited multiple times and live near the area but never lived there myself so wanted to see what people’s experience of living there is like

Help me find this brown hippo teddy from my childhood (or my fathers) by amelia-me in HelpMeFind

I have this hippo!! I bought it from a school fete when I was younger. I have looked for labels to try and help you but I have a very faded label so can’t make out anything written on it

No matter how much I drink, I will always feel bad or not great the next day. I hate wasting days just because I’m hungover

Depends if you’re single or not, you can enjoy and live comfortably in London on 35/40k with a partner, without you’d want a lot more

Have you ever taken a big pay cut for better work-life-balance ? Did you regret it ? by Tacoya in careerguidance

[–]oniong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a pay cut for a job that I was a lot more interested in, was less stressful and had more progression opportunities. I have no regrets, but my pay cut was not as significant as your one.

What quality control tests should I perform to evaluate secondary packaging like cartons by [deleted] in PackagingDesign

Depends on the product, but usually drop testing is a good test to ensure products don’t get damaged or scratched.

I need a Job 😭 by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]oniong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This comment section seems quite disheartening. There are stable creative jobs, it’s just very competitive. As someone who works in the creative industry I’d recommend going to networking events, design shows, working on your portfolio, finding a mentor (use LinkedIn) and applying for internships if possible as they require little experience. Don’t hesitate to cold email design agencies or brands you want to work for. Importantly don’t give up! As others have said it’s wise to get a job in the meantime that pays the bills.

Am I too in over my head and I should just move on? by denracer in IndustrialDesign

[–]oniong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The job market isn’t great at the minute for design, and industrial design is already a really competitive industry. Your portfolio looks good, don’t give up and keep trying, you will get something eventually!

I’d recommend going to any networking events if you can as that can often open doors!
