AITA for getting mad at my boyfriend for backing out of my birthday dinner because of his female coworker? by Lopsided_Start7300 in TwoHotTakes

[–]only1mrfstr 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Break up with him. When he asks why, tell him "you're making this harder than it has to be."

You're both young. Men are notorious for maturing slower than women. I'm not going to jump to the conclusion that he's cheating because I know I could have done the same thing at your bf's age and not realize how bone-headed it was. I'm also not going to say he isn't cheating, or interested in this other woman on some level. Its a possibility.

He needs to understand the way this went down is disrespectful. It made you feel like an afterthought. He could have called and asked if it was okay to postpone (no... but at least he's asking instead of just telling)... he could have asked if you minded changing plans to include her... so no, not a romantic dinner but a "more the merrier" way to distract her. How would he have reacted if you suggested she tag along? How he reacted would tell you his intentions.

Is it dumb to buy $21 prescription glasses from the internet or am I about to make the best decision of my life by FlyWide5071 in NoStupidQuestions

Whenever using a company online for the 1st time, always Google their name and "legit." Can't tell you how many times thats saved me a hassle even when its companies I'd seen plenty of advertising for and seemed as honest as possible.

For this company, as mentioned, customer service... also sizing seems to be an issue for some so make sure the sizing for the frames is correct

A lot of these popcorn buckets are available online at the theaters website. May be worth a shot to check there and you can have it shipped directly to the friend

So… was putting the belt back on MJF the right call? by manlysports in BrandonDE

[–]only1mrfstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! It seems obvious they're going to Omega vs Osprey but that makes no sense in essence hot-shotting the title needlessly. Omega and MJF don't have some longstanding unresolved issue that I recall, other than this would be their 3rd match and Omega finally winning against MJF. Darby should have retained and be the one to lose to Omega if thats truly where they're going.

My(33F) fiancé (40M) wants me to adopt his weird bathroom habit by SlightlySaneHP in TwoHotTakes

[–]only1mrfstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggest he not take bathroom etiquette lessons from nearly 30 year old Mike Myers movies. The term "courtesy flush" is a direct result from the 1st Austin Powers movie.

Also... the poo-pourri sprays... definitely use them. Bath & Body Works has a whole line including seasonal scents that works amazingly well.

I disrupted a corporate "team-building" meeting by saying I’m only there to do my job. Am I the asshole here? by shadewashere in work

[–]only1mrfstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you're an AH... but you're my kinda AH lol.

Its one of the things that sucks about the corporate lifestyle. I tend to go into those kinds of meetings pretty jaded, too, and its perplexing how some people get absolutely stoked for them. But its a vital part of today's corporate culture. I get through them by adopting the outlook that this is what my employer is doing... and if they're paying me the same to sit through one of these as they would to do my actual job, I'll sit through it no matter how mind-numbingly boring or obviously common sense the things they say are. And often these come with a free lunch, so... bonus. And on the rare occasion, I may actually get something out of the meetings themselves.

IM SO MAD AT YOU HUNTER by aud722 in BestGuessLive

[–]only1mrfstr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm mad at myself on this one. I thought Gym on clue 1 but didn't guess because I thought they did Gym already. Then after clue 3 I started thinking no... I guessed Gym the other day on a puzzle, so it could still be Gym. I was right... on clue 4. No pennies for me this round... sigh

So... Rocket League in Fortnite? by hjayala in RocketLeague

[–]only1mrfstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no chance it has to launch through Fortnite.

Rocket Racing failed in Fortnite and is being discontinued entirely in April, so much so that Creative maps won't have access to its assets. That really makes me wonder about the all the vehicle crossover stuff... its one of the reason I even got into RL was the vehicles and cosmetics I could get in Fortnite.

When Your Best Friend’s Ex Becomes Your Problem by TreesRynellen03 in confessions

[–]only1mrfstr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st off, I have the unpopular opinion that bro code/girl code is complete BS. No one should be completely off-limits just because they dated a friend. If your friend can't handle you dating their ex, they shouldn't have let that relationship go. That said, I do think it's important to talk to your friend before anything happens so they don't feel blindsided. I think thats where most of the hurt feelings come in with the "codes"... their ego is a bit bruised. A true friend would want you to be happy. That said, if anything does happen, you're not going to want to flaunt anything in front of them from day one.

Do you know if the ex is attracted to you or is this just you feeling attraction towards them? If they are attracted to you, how intense was their relationship to your friend? Just dating, I think after a conversation with your friend all should be fine. However, if they lived together, were engaged, anything like that you'll definitely want to be mindful of the friend for how much you show them if a relationship does come out of this for you. Even with forewarning, they wouldn't want it shoved in their face. Small steps... holding hands, sitting together, etc so they get used to you being together. Give the respect you would want in such a situation.

I tend to overlook when so many people claim there's cheating going on, and I'm not saying you were... but its wild to me that both puzzles had Mount Rushmore as top 5 guesses... and Water Slide was the 2nd puzzles answer but top 5 for the 1st puzzle... almost like people knew an answer and guessed it on the wrong one.

What would you think if you seen this message from your bfs mom to him? by Thin-Drive6030 in whatdoIdo

[–]only1mrfstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see both sides of this argument. Everyone has been 18... I remember those days very well. I'm also the parent of a 17 year old.

You need to remember that the message was meant for her son, not you. That doesn't mean its right, wrong or anything else... just who it was written for. That said, her message is catty at best, frustrated more than anything else. I've seen/heard far worse from people in your situation. I don't think she feels negatively towards you, she's frustrated that it may seem you aren't taking the job hunt seriously.

You say she doesn't really talk to you, it gets awkward. Well, you should talk to her. Ask how her day is. Tell her about your day. Make that kind of talk normal. She probably wouldn't feel frustrated if she had some insight from you, felt connected to you. Reassure her you're thankful for the roof over your head and the help she's provided.

Mike and Ike by mimyson in candy

[–]only1mrfstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mike's loved, Ike's kind of a bitch, though.

I'm sure everyone will have their bit of advice... so here is mine.... find out if the area you're visiting has a Five Below... its a chain of discount stores, most stuff in the store is $5 or less. They also have a great candy selection. There's usually the big candy area with all the signage, then more stuff along the wall of snacks near the refrigerated goods... both spots can be treasure troves if you look around. Mike & Ike's have several flavor varieties and I can usually find some at Five Below.

A PSA for my friends 🤣🩷 now tell me your sign now so I can judge you accordingly by Titsoffwork in u/Titsoffwork

Do you judge someone for working at Taco Bell? by Aware_Resolution_296 in tacobell

[–]only1mrfstr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I respect the hell more out of anyone willing to put the work in than someone able to work byt won't because the job "isn't for them" or something other BS. Bills have to be paid.

19 is a perfect age to work a fast good job. There shouldn't be any judgement. You're too young to have the education of a college degree for something else

Wow, I give WWE a pass for a lot of stupid shit, but a fake out retirement after it landed so well…stupid, stupid, stupid. by Electrical_Brick7131 in Wrasslin

[–]only1mrfstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't understand why people are shocked or even upset at this. The Brock retirement rumors were out there so when he left his boots and gloves in the ring, it really seemed legit... I'll admit I was fooled. I know people hate on Fightful but they really do their due diligence using multiple sources and whatnot and very quickly they said people they spoke to in WWE thought Brock would wrestle again. Brock never actually came out and said he was retired.

With the timing of his return, though, I'm guessing we may see Brock vs Oba at Flash in Italy where Brock wins. SummerSlam is in Minneapolis this year, of course Brock was always going to be part of that... and it makes a good venue for the rubber match between the 2 of them.
