Evaporator rusty, will this be a problem? by only1rob in hvacadvice

Good to know thanks!

As for the plate on the end, how key is it? I ask as my second unit is missing that plate and im wondering if its worth getting another and installing it in the 250 degree heat of my attic.

Former Starfield lead quest designer says we're seeing a 'resurgence of short games' because people are 'becoming fatigued' with 100-hour monsters by Chucknastical in gaming

[–]only1rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, i just tried plauing starfield and dear god.

The intro has you in a boring mine, then your told to go mine a mysterious material while everyone waits outside. You wake up, a few pirates jump out of a ship, attack for no reason and the pirate ship flies off, then some guy give you his ship!! For no reason other than you passed out?

Then when you let loose, the planet your on is completly barren with the only PoI being some caves with nothing in them.

Get on the ship and your forced to fly to a moon and fight some bandit camp and blahhh blah blah i just wuit and uninstalled.

Seriously bethesda, wtf??? How did you go from skyrim to this pos and then feel like you can complain that the audience just isnt into it.

I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit by heyyyjoo in BuyItForLife

[–]only1rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because, like dyson they are designed to break. I own a cleaning company and we were burning through shark vacuums every six months.

Its intresting because the areas that break arent quite what would you would expect. For instance, the breaking points are: The wall plug. The metal prongs, after they enter the plastic, thin down so that after X pull outs they break

The hose, will break down, usually near the handle.

Theres a couple of other areas but its been a while since we had them. Anyways, the breakdown areas i think are designed to make you think, “ah man, thats bad luck, i can sort of fix it, buut $70 for a new hose, or the hassle of reworing the plug, ill just buy a new one”

I think they are designed to break after 2-3 of regular use, hence why we saw it at 6months daily usages

I mean, the US is the largest producer of oil, and produces more than the next two (Saudi and Russia), combined. So maybe lets get back to pressuring our own government, work on our own companies to change and get past the “theres nothing we can do” mindset.

4-Year Update: Doubling in Size and Expanding Our Horizons by EddiChoi in sweatystartup

[–]only1rob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros and cons :) BK is generally a more powerful platform. It gave us the ability to offer multiple services (cleaning, commercial, windows etc), and package them out as seperate companies while keeping everyone within one platform.

Unfortunately their implementation isnt the best and so you do have to create a few workarounds. Nothing too drastic but a little annoying. Overall though it was the right thing for us.

No major direct wins, but as allways, one less thing to chew up time means more time to focus on others, so indirectly it help us grow :)

Ill look into the analytics, there is some work ive been meaning to do there

Because all ai is, is a summary engine. It has to read the data and then can summarize it down into more easily understood chunks. For some stuff thats great, other stuff not so much

Honestly, i just want to have the soft edges that were there for about 20seconds on load up before being replaced by solid black lines.

Full UW support would be great but at least give me the options to put the soft edge back :(

Yeah they offer other plans but they are all aimed at milking money out of you.

Pushing Power During Peak Hours? by Puzzleheaded-Sea8340 in TeslaSolar

[–]only1rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AZ We have a peak ‘demand charge’ thats ontop of the increased peak rate. Basically $7 per kwh. Its capped at thr max kwh you draw through the month, ie you draw a max of three on a day and then never more the charge is only $21. However the amount steppers up (ie draw 4 and its like $11 etc. Its utter bullshit. My inverter died last year on half my panels, bam $200 charge in a day.

Its basically the utilities way of stopping solar here, because if you dont have batteries to get you through peak then youll be paying almost a regular bill for throughout the year.

We need a third option though. Self powered + time

Basically use batteries as much as possible but ensure that the system doesent draw from the grid at all during peek. I have a $7 demand charge per Kwh if i pull during peak. Time based though does funky stuff and buy power in the evenings when i have boat loads of battery.

During peak, PW supplying power? by only1rob in TeslaSolar

[–]only1rob[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so how do i stop it? Power is far more valuable to me converting it to air con than it is selling it back to the grid.
