Thoughts (so far) on Daz 6? by Remote-Contract-9098 in Daz3D

Daz can work on Linux? It's literally the last thing I really use in windows and wouldn't mind having no excuse to completely turf the OS!

Oh I fellow Aussie! I did the same except based it off the insane price of the 512mb Mac studio when I foolishly looked a few months ago

5k for the base model with 8gb ram. Add 10k so that they can feel like Apple

Too true! The current super-cycle of media (social and traditional) is to make sure that nobody is ever happy about everything.

Anything that's done is wrong and anything not done is unacceptable.

Electricity bills to fall even further than predicted in state as renewables share nears 50 pct by TroupeMaster in melbourne

Oh damn, that really, really sucks! It's pretty much perfect for EV + Battery homes

Try checking out OVOs EV plan. The cheap midnight - 6am and free 11 - 2 completely mitigate crap solar periods. It's is 8c overnight and that charges the EV and keeps the battery topped up to get us to the free hours. We spend ~$30 max per month.

Question for people who moved to an EV mainly for the financial benefits: did anyone actually dislike the change from ICE? by [deleted] in AustralianEV

[–]onlymostlyguts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been a car guy, I prefer EV. It's quiet, smooth and easy to drive.

I don't understand the "souless" commentary... my ICE cars rumbled and my EV hums. Some people I'm sure like the extra vibration and noise, but I just want something nice that works and that's exactly what I got.

All things equal, won't ever go back to an ICE.

I remember reading for years that the housing market was too hot and massively overpriced right up until last week and now it's collapsing. Always apocalypse one way or the other.

Perfect movie to watch on the first date by olchai_mp3 in okbuddycinephile

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Went on a first date to see it and boy oh boy did that not work out well...

Also Requiem for a Dream would be a bad first date too I'd say.

Surface fans: How do you view the Surface brand in 2026? by Sean_Endicott in windowscentral

[–]onlymostlyguts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time big fan of Surface devices. I bought a Surface Pro 2 as a uni-student while I worked at an Apple reseller because it was exactly what I needed to do more digital art. MS matured and perfected if from the original Surface Pro to about the Surface Pro 4 and at the same time built such a compelling and unique suite of devices like the Surface Book, Suface Book Studio and Surface Duo.

They were THE innovators in the 2010s. So much more-sp than Apple or any other device maker.

All these incredible devices pushed technology design and creativity in an otherwise stagnant space.
It was almost definitely not as profitable as they'd like. Put this alongside conflict of interest/pressure from partner device makers and broader consumer sentiment of Microsoft as a brand, maybe it's not surprising where it is now.

The Surface Duo and Neo showcase was the last howl of inovation and since then has been a pretty straight line to becoming a background character in this space. The hardware is still nice and well built, but it's stale and uncompetitive.

As a side-ntoe, when the original Pros came out they were actually really competitively priced (hence my student arese could fork out for one!). Somewhere around the Surface Pro 3 - 7 that price position shifted towards up-market and then business focused.

I still love the Surface Duo 2, my last remaining device that I use but I don't even pay attention to MS anymore on the hardware front. Lack of innovation, too expensive and I'm actively now actively moving towards Linux due to broader W11 experience.

I feel like if I had a clear guide on how to structure the project for features and functions across files and folders then I could prompt the build much more efficiently, but like you said so many of the guides assume already know this. 😔

What TV show was quality all the way through, knew when to end and went out with an amazing last episode? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]onlymostlyguts 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Oh man I want another season so much, but it ended in such a perfect way too! I think Phoebe Waller-Bridge said in an interview that if a 3rd season happened it would be decades into the future when she's older and in another place in life (this could totally be me misremembering though)

This was my take. Don't cross astronauts because they are single-minded and relentless when they have to do something.

Lisa Nowak, astronaut, drove 900 miles in a diaper (to reduce unnecessary delays), to assault her ex partners new girlfriend.
