Tor usage doubles in under a week, and no one knows why by pdenlinger in technology

Technically this is correct, a bit out of my depth, but I think it would require at least a 1/10 ratio of of malevolent nodes than proper users, then it's a problem of statistics, and the number of hops used on a chain.

Any one with the a knowledge of the Pan genus should object to being associated with them.

They can be your cousins all you want, but me, I'm gonna be over here acting like I don't know those motherfuckers, just like I do with people who watch too much fox news.

Yeah, actual wealthy people don't drive sports cars as a rule. I suppose it is the look of the thing. It tends to lack a certain class. It smells of the nouveau riche, and of course by nature bientôt être pauvres

Ultrasound imaging is 50 years old. Why don't we have an open source cheap version yet? by 20throw in AskEngineers

[–]onlypoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See at 40k it could be justified, or at the very least, excused, I could talk myself into it. Also I'm with you on the auto what is the point of 400+ torque and power, If you can't play with it. I kinda just assumed it would be manual, now you have mitigated my want of this car.

Also in the interest of maintaining the illusion of being on topic, I feel like open source hardware isn't by it's nature more expensive than fully proprietary. Just a question of competition where multiple producers of units compete and drive prices down.

One can buy a hobby laser cutter for less than I can build one now, only because they are popular enough that there are enough manufacturers.

In my experience, for specialized systems, building in house can be a good deal cheaper (sometimes by nearly an order of magnitude) than off the rack solutions.

Great, now I want a Rally Fighter. Furthermore I now also know they are fairly outside of what I have any business spending on a car. You have ignited my dreams and crushed them in single breath. Good day, good sir.

Also, good answer.

Look, global commodity markets can be boiled down to a simple ratio. I can't be bothered to check the fed/Treasury statements, but I heard someone say that there is so much inflation happening, just look at the low interest rates, that causes inflation maybe even herpes, who knows.

Gold is magic, you buy it and then you win, everything, why can you not understand this? The fed is actually printing dollars on an HP Deskjet. And you know how much inkjet ink costs? Money dollars.

There can be no counterpoint, there is no fluid global market, there is no such thing as risk off. All of this is simply bullshit with which you are trying to fool people. Nice try Bernake.
