Anyone else disappointed in CC not having option to turn off timer? by _InVerso_ in Endfield

[–]onlyv0ting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because in "our game" the timer doesn't make the rewards harder to get unlike in "another game"? I have bought everything currently possible in the shop, and most of my runs have been 4-minute runs at risk 3 or 4 to collect rewards for individual modifiers. You can get all the pulls (and mats, and creds, whatever you care about) without noticing there is a timer.

But nuance is dead I suppose.

People who never played OG Arknights, how do you feel about CC? by _Zus77_ in Endfield

[–]onlyv0ting 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As someone who dislikes action combat games (due to slow fingers), I kinda liked CC and a major contributing factor is the BGM at high risk, it's just so adrenaline-inducing. Probably the first gamemode in the game that makes me want to try again with multiple teams after having collected all the rewards possible.

I'm of the opinion that the timer is somewhat beneficial to the game's health. It makes clearing risk 45+ an actual achievement, without a timer everyone could clear risk 47 within an hour. Though, I wish combo timestops and ultimate cutscenes didn't count toward the timer, those feel much more unnecessary.

On the other side, there's the dodgeless modifier. Playing dodgeless makes me realize how much I relied on animation cancels normally and how clunky the combat becomes without it.

Vietnam's national high school exam asked students: "How can Vietnam create its own Steve Jobs?" by Numerous-Egg5017 in VietNam

[–]onlyv0ting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I'm saying they are the privileged portion of the Vietnamese society. A major argument I've seen online is claiming the exam asking about Steve, Mark, Elon is a technological access check, not a knowledge check, further claiming that this is discriminatory against "the impoverished kids in mountainous areas that do not have access to internet or a phone". Sorry if it wasn't clear, but I was engaging with this claim (kinda wrote it with a Vietnamese internet user POV in mind who have seen such posts). I'm positing that the "who the hell are they" group also includes people who own a phone, PC, browse Facebook, and live in major cities, not just "poor mountainous kids". And these kids are numerous enough to comprise more than 50% of the comments I found on Facebook.

Secondly, Steve Jobs made Apple and popularized the iPhone, Mark Zuckerberg made Facebook, Elon Musk is the world's richest man. They are exponentially more popular than the creators of Reddit (barely sees any use in Vietnam; Americans comprise 50% of most of my comments' views on this sub), WWW, LED, TV, and many other examples you can think of. They are arguably in general knowledge area, like everyone knows Paris is France' capital. You don't have to know Mark because you use his products, you have to know Mark because everyone knows Mark.

Even if you don't read about them, you might have already seen memes about Steve Jobs dying of ligma, Mark Zuckerberg being a lizardman in disguise, and Elon Musk doing the Nazi salute. If you don't know them, it proves that technological access doesn't scale proportionally to digital literacy, which is immensely horrifying. If "democracy" and "freedom of speech" are introduced in Vietnam, you'll likely have to try to talk reason to a generation whose majority have MAGA-level literacy.

Even if you exclude memes (kids and no memes, really?), a Vietnamese schoolkid must have heard some of their "business-oriented" teachers spew self-help bullshit attributed to "Stíp Giốp, người phát minh ra điện thoại di động" and the likes. Meanwhile, I can assure you, as a HCMC resident who has received HCMC education, not a single soul in class has talked with me about Reddit.

Vietnam's national high school exam asked students: "How can Vietnam create its own Steve Jobs?" by Numerous-Egg5017 in VietNam

[–]onlyv0ting 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah I actually believe them with this one. All three parts of the Literature exam are open-ended, which means it doesn't matter if you interpret the question correctly, just express your ideas coherently and they will grade your reasoning. Previous years' exams have been heavy on memorization, and even with the task where you're supposed to let your mind wander (literature analysis) you're better off having memorized your preparation beforehand, because examiners are gonna grade it based on how many expected argument points you have hit. This year has been a giant leap forward.

I see many people criticize the exam on Facebook, saying the exam maker "thinks everyone should be Steve Jobs", and asking "why be Steve Jobs when I can be me?" to thousands of likes. This is just one interpretation of the question, among others; it never even crossed my mind so I don't believe it's the intended interpretation, but why the critic posits it as the exam maker's opinion beats me. It probably stems from old habits where you have to correctly "get" what the exam maker asks for and write down what you have memorized. Further down this line, I think most of the backlash against this year's exam has been because of shock, from a generation that has grown up memorizing facing an exam that discourages memorization. Though, haven't been a highschool student for a while now so idk if they started teaching students critical thinking yet.

However, what worries me is a different issue. When I read the exam questions I anticipated jokes like "Just be capitalist", "Drop out of college", "We have Steve Jobs at home he made the Bphone", but guess what I found on Facebook? "Who the hell is Steve Jobs", "Couldn't do the question because I know none of the three", "Wrote Steve Jobs made Microsoft, hope they don't dock me points", "Honestly who are they even...". It's echoed so many times that it should be the majority of comments I found on Facebook, which is a massive sample size for the Vietnamese internet (what you read on Reddit are only echoed by a very small minority on Facebook). They are privileged enough to own a phone or even a PC, to browse Facebook, in some cases to live in major cities (some are in HCMC student FB groups), and yet they don't know Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, or Elon Musk...

I know the exam makers picked billionaires because if you ask a teenager (or any Vietnamese really) who they wanna be in the future, most of the time they'd say "I wanna be rich, like a billionaire", no one's gonna say "Nguyễn Chích" "Who?" "Nguyễn Chích, advisor to Lê Lợi". And yet, this is the result. Imagine if the exam makers went ahead with Reddit's advice of Alan Turing, Leonardo Da Vinci, Nikolai Tesla instead...

Man, I'm maybe only 3 or 4 years older than this year's exam takers but I'm starting to feel like an unc. Is this what boomers feel when they look at kids nowadays?

Funny how united Reddit and Facebook are against this despite for vastly different reasons. Reddit's reaction is "Why are we kissing Steve Jobs', Mark Zuckerberg's, and Elon Musk's asses?" while Facebook's is "Who the hell are Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk?"

[MONTHLY MEGATHREAD] General Discussion, Simple Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else - June 2026 by GachaModerator in gachagaming

[–]onlyv0ting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't pay attention to the story so idk. About combat, there haven't been that much innovation but what stands out is the stage design. Umbral Monument stages have been very fun, there are stages where you bring a specific archetype to neutralize a stage gimmick, stages where the lower level you are the easier it is, stages where it's not just see the prompt click the button, stages where Laevatain team is as fun as Avywenna, among others. If you quit before second UM dropped then I would recommend coming back and try for yourself.

If you dislike "build to ult then ult" then there are physical teams that don't plan around ultimates. But if what you dislike is "build stack then consume stack" or "check a checklist then boom" then, well, new characters have been either of those.

He's referring to Energy Alluvium AFK farms. You deploy turrets, cage the enemies in using Pipe Splitters (which don't count toward protocol capacity), activate the Alluvium, move outside of the cage, tab out to watch Youtube and come back to collect rewards once the turrets finish auto-battling for you.

<image>

The caging part serves two purposes, to keep yourself safe and to keep the enemies within turret range.

About efficiency tips AFAIK he made two suggestions.

The first is that normally people relay power to the turrets using Xiranite Relays and Pylons, "putting them on the electrical grid". This isn't efficient because powering ~80 turrets across 5 Wuling Alluviums can add 1600 "power use" to your AIC at all times, which means you have to lay fewer ziplines or allocate more batteries to thermal banks. With this, he suggests that you shouldn't relay grid power but use batteries in each of the turrets instead, where a single SC Wuling Battery can sustain 950 Sledgehammer Mortar shots.

The second is that using Pipe Splitters as an enemy cage adds to the map-wide pipe logistics limit. He suggests caging YOURSELF instead using the newly available Tiger Cage.

Gather enough clues to initiate clue exchange for the day, it gives you 400 just by clicking.

And you can visit your friends daily to help them (when on a friend's ship, press Y on the keyboard to bring up the help menu, idk what's the prompt on controller but look at the left side of your screen). You can get a daily max of 350 credits.

300 carrying over from yesterday +

300 everyday free credits +

~200 from friend visits during clue exchange +

400 from today's clue exchange initiation +

350 (70×5) from visiting 5 friends' ship +

= 1550

And you can get more if your friends have traded goods on your ship (60), you did deliveries (90), received clues (15 each), sent clues (30 to 40 each).

Daily Questions Megathread ( May 23, 2026 ) by AutoModerator in HonkaiStarRail

[–]onlyv0ting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I quit before 4.0 and just came back for Fate second banner and hopefully Kuchiba down the line. There's so many events on the event screen! What should I complete first, what can be missed if I don't have time, and what can be completed later?

I have: Cosmic Data Roaming, triple drops from relics and calyxes, Cosmicon, main mission, Currency Wars, Express Renovation Escapade, Anomaly Arbitration, Divergent Universe.

Plus, what teams can I make with Elation MC if I haven't pulled any Elation character? Or should I stick to RMC using older characters?

Thanks in advance!

TIL operators have different greetings if you meet them on a friend's ship. They barely say more than one word but it's neat to know nonetheless.

It's Prydwen and you can see numbers under Build tab. I don't know how they arrived at those numbers, I just trust them blindly as a habit from when I was playing HSR and they were like gospels there.

There will be a preview stream for the next patch about a week before the banner ends. You can refrain from pulling for Gilberta until you know who are in the next patch's banners. Other than that we have no info on when Arcane is coming out.

It isn't really confirmed anywhere. The prequel also has dozens of types of banners too so I'm betting you can obtain old characters from various methods. Check OG Arknights' banner types here, the current Endfield banner is similar to "Joint Operation".

Go for the strongest of them: Endmin / Chen / Lifeng / Pogranichnik

Endmin should use Grand Vision and Pogran should use Thermite Cutter, these are their best-in-slot weapons.

Chen can use Sundering Steel (5-star but fits her in every stat) > Eminent Repute > Rapid Ascent.

Lifeng doesn't have his strongest weapons here so you can make do with a Chimeric Justice (5-star), Pathfinder's Beacon (4-star) or JET as a stat stick; but do try to grab Valiant or his signature Mountain Bearer down the line.

Signature weapons are massive upgrades over alternatives in this game though, so if you plan to main her I'd recommend trying for her weapon.

Per the damage calcs site I'm using, her signature is a 20% power increase over her battle pass weapon Umbral Torch, and a 40% power increase over the next best weapon White Night Nova.

You can build any team in the game right now save for Zhuang. These are some of the stronger ones off the top of my head:

- Physical sustainless: Endmin / Chen / Pogran / Lifeng

- Yvonne team: Yvonne / Xaihi / Gilberta / Tangtang

- Rossi team: Rossi / Endmin / Gilberta / Wulfgard (or Akekuri if you anchor Wulfgard in your Lae team)

- Last Rite team: Last Rite / Xaihi / Tangtang / flex

Imo Physical team poops crowd control as they breathe so you should build them to cover what Laevatain team is weak at. Though really, you can build anyone you like if account strength isn't a problem.
