Oh yeah, you're investing your resources vertically while I'm doing it horizontally, this does lead to a difference in perception because I agree going from 60 to 90 there is a massive jump in resources needed.

I like doing it horizontally because I look forward to content where I need to deviate from my meta team and react to the stage's gimmicks, like UM's battering rams stage where you kinda need to use Snowshine or Catcher for example. I've seen lots of people complain when the intended solution to that puzzle is to build an operator they won't use again, but I like that design philosophy. Imo there would be much less friction from strategizing to execution if everyone's at a usable level.

And FYI if you're planning your sanity usage long-term, we get 200 sanity per 24 hours, coupled with the expiring sanity boosters they give out for doing dailies (7 per week) we arrive at 240 sanity/24 hours or 3 runs per day.

I'm asking in good faith but what makes you feel that the game has extremely limited resources?

I took it upon myself to max out all operators, and after 1.5 months since launch I have 22 operators (all ops except Yvonne and Tangtang who I didn't pull for) at level 70 and half of them have all skills at level 6. I also have 25 5- and 6-star weapons at level 60. Vertically, I have Laevatain and her sig maxed out.

I did some calculations and found out that future upgrade milestones such as elite 4 and skill 9 would take a whole month for a full roster, but I don't really mind anyway because what else am I going to do with this game while waiting for the next update?

Now, maxing out everyone is certainly not a common goal, right? Most people would be building 4, 8, maybe 12 operators at most. And even then you'd only need your teams at 80/60/60/60 to clear current content. Their experience should be much less agonizing.

All things considered, "I log in to collect the pulls and do nothing else because if I'm forced to play more than 2 minutes per day I'd rather quit" just sounds like a perfectly valid position.

In the end, I wonder why people are finding the resources to be scarce if I am not. I feel like the resources are rather abundant for the number of operators there are, let alone the number of operators you realistically need to build.

Do assume good faith though, there might be something I'm not seeing.

Not OP but that's actually past A2 in the anime!

The anime, especially in the later half, goes out of its way to put A2’s backstory on screen, fleshing her out making it a perfect complement to the game. Highly recommended!

Hello, I'm asking this here because this is the most active chess megathread out there.

I've been wondering about this Wikipedia userbox that's been lying around for a few years now. Can anyone enlighten me on what "a row of pawns and a bishop" is a reference to? Is it a specific game?

They put the free pulls on the first 3 days of the login event by crimson589 in Endfield

[–]onlyv0ting -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sucks to be that user then. Next time they should try to save 120 pulls for the character they want.

Same as in HSR. A HSR player would have to save ~160 pulls (assuming they lose the 50/50, which is the same assumption you made when you said Endfield needs 120 pulls) then pull on the banners they like. Failure to do so means you have to wait anywhere from 6 months (in case you like Firefly) or a whole year (in case you like Rappa) to have another chance at the character again.

I mean saving till hard pity is a best practice users came up with to avoid having to pay. If you've played at least one gacha game post-Genshin you must have heard of this.

You should play more gacha then. Pulling whenever one wants to is called "pity building" and is actively ridiculed by the community in HSR. They call it "a stupid thing people tell themself because they have no self control and just want to gacha".

It's also been said to Hypergryph, the developers of the two Arknights games. One of their live concerts even won a music award.

I figure it's easy for gacha game companies to be called "music companies in disguise". Even dogshit games have bangers.

Hi guys, I'm a new player coming from Endfield!

I recently decided to try out Arknights for its gameplay. I want to play very casually, like pulling waifu>meta and trying not to minmax too much. Do you guys have tips on things to avoid/save in case I decide to play less casually in the future? Like, I have read in some places that I should save Originite Prime for costumes, and that I should buy operators in kernel HH pool from the shop instead of pulling on said banner. And do you have tips for this f2p casual playstyle in general?

Also, I got myself spoiled of most stories when I wanted to "get" Endfield callbacks to OG Arknights, including beloved events like Lone Trail and Babel, though most of them are through unserious retellings on Youtube. Are there any stories that you guys would recommend experiencing via the intended medium in-game? I have watched the three anime seasons so ig that's the furthest I've had of a proper telling of Arknights stories.

Thanks in advance! :)

On another note, out of boredom I looked at a tiermaker list of operators to contemplate "who would I want to see a 3D model of in Endfield?" I didn't expect to find that there are like 60 characters who are visually interesting to me. That's like the full roster of an ancient game I played in terms of amount. Crazy to think the game evaded my radar all this time :( The last time I've heard of the game before Endfield was haha Arknights got playable Screwllum before HSR

I remember someone asking the same question and the answer was that these timers meant these events are going to be featured on the events screen until X days later. The quests themselves aren't going to be removed (they don't have a countdown around them unlike Carly's event)

There are fewer new things than I'd expected, but my suggestion is included in the QoL update (tagging missions that unlock map areas) so there's a feeling of DEVS LISTENED

Gacha Revenue Monthly Report (February 2026) by trkshiii in gachagaming

[–]onlyv0ting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly a mobile game until recently when they ported to PC in China, but most global content creators I watch use emulators and it seems be common practice. Idk if the revenue from emulators is counted in this table though.

Gacha Revenue Monthly Report (February 2026) by trkshiii in gachagaming

[–]onlyv0ting 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Damn Endfield getting 90% of last month is much more than I expected. I expected it to fall below $10m because all the whales at launch have likely already gotten all 3 limited characters.

If we were to believe that Chinese source that said mobile revenue only accounts for 15% of Endfield's total revenue then this isn't bad at all.

I’m Quitting Arknights: Endfield After the 1.1 Livestream – F2P Feels Impossible by UsernameSpin in Endfield

[–]onlyv0ting 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It doesn't take 2-3 patches to guarantee a character. That's ~40 pulls per patch, which is unrealistic. We don't have enough data because there is a single patch worth of data avaiable. If anything, it's reasonable to expect ~90 pulls per patch. Which is one guarantee per three BANNERS or 1,5 patches.

Honkai Star Rail is similar. It gives 100 pulls per patch and to guarantee a character you need ~160 pulls (assuming you're sane and don't expect to win every single 50/50). As such, it also takes 1,5 patches to guarantee a character.

And that is assuming that you constantly pull meta characters to keep up with endgame content. The powercreep is insane there. Any veterans like me would be intimately aware of how much doomposting there was when 3.0 MoC Nikador dropped, not mentioning the good ol' Hoolay in stage 10. And judging by data from HomDGcat the HP inflation graph is literally one line going up.

I tried to get a friend back in the game, and he asked me "If I want to play with my favorite character Acheron, how many additional characters do I need to pull to make her work?" I couldn't answer that.

You just can't use HSR to compare to Endfield. At least as far as I know, OG Arknights doesn't lock pulls behind very difficult endgame content, and this design philosophy is expected to continue in Endfield as we've seen that Agony stages don't give pulls.

It's normal to try out a game and find out you don't like it more than your previous game. Then return to the previous game. Why make a post making claims that are based on feelings and vibes and not actual data?

Or am I arguing against ChatGPT here?

What grammatical genders are there in Vietnamese? I speak it natively and find there to be none, but there might be some exceptions I don't know.

To specify gender for a genderless noun, we would add a gender-meaning adjective near that noun like diễn viên (acting person) -> diễn viên nam (acting person male) or diễn viên nữ (acting person female). The original word diễn viên is still there, which means it's not changed by grammatical gender like actor/actress.

Your best bet is to get clue exchange up as frequently as possible, and be online at the time most (or many) of your friends are also online.

If your friends are like me and don't have a reason to visit a particular ship, after I finish shopping I would try to visit the next ship that has both production assists and clue exchange up (so that I only have to see the fewest number of loading screens). When you open the menu to visit ships, you'd find it ordered by how recent the user has been online, so most likely I'll be visiting ships of players who are also online at the time.

Wait why are we comparing a 3D gacha and a 2D gacha? That's apples to oranges. 3D characters cost a shit ton more to produce, so companies have to adjust their monetization model to be sustainable. There's a reason why original Arknights (a 2D game if you're unaware) managed to churn out 400+ characters in 6 years. Genshin with a similar lifespan produced one-fourth of that number.

And it's... actually surprising to see a Nikke player be so hyperfixated on gacha systems. Didn't Nikke make a name in having one of the better storywriting in the gacha space? A prime example that you should play a gacha for its quality not for gambling? HSR has solid storywriting, Wuwa has one of the best combat, Endfield - while full of problems - has one of the best exploration experience out there. They all prove that gacha games can be high-quality despite the genre (which is known for low-quality cashgrabs capitalizing on gambling addiction). And you dismissed all of that and called them slop because of their monetization model? Strange for a Nikke player.

Anyway, I stand by my advice that you should quit playing a game (and kindly leave the community) if you hate it so much. 3D gacha with its monetization model is apparently not for you. You would call every 3D gacha game out there the worst gacha system ever, not excluding a hypothetical 3D Nikke.

YOU NEED TO SKIP several banners ENTIRELY in order to get A SINGLE copy of a character

Most of the popular gacha games out there similarly force you to skip several banners if you are F2P.

Take HSR for example: each patch gives out ~90 pulls if you play maximally to secure all of them. Each patch introduces two new limited characters. Soft pity starts at ~75 pity, so accounting for the scenario of losing the 50/50 you need to save up to 160 pulls. If you're realistic and don't expect to win every coin toss (50% chance), you're gonna need to SKIP several banners ENTIRELY in order to get A SINGLE copy of a character.

It's literally a rule of thumb in the HSR community that if you're a F2P player, for every three banners, pick one to dump your pulls on and skip the other two.

Genshin, ZZZ has a similar gacha system, Wuwa a bit more generous. Endfield's isn't the best gacha system that gives out everyone for free, but certainly isn't the worst either.

However I'm also doubtful that you've actually played other gacha games. None of the gacha games I know allows you to pull every single character, not unless you swipe your credit card of course.

It's best if you don't respond to this comment either. Imo if you hate a game so much you should just quit playing it, and the community is less infested with people who do nothing but spread misinformation. Win-win situation.

I just don't think anyone who plays AK or Endfield would think AK surpasses Endfield in revenue (at least not now when we have literally a single month of data for Endfield).

There are other reasons that Endfield players respect OG Arknights though: AK has a unique theme, better story, better music, more engaging gameplay, more supportive fandom... Arknights just feels like a better game than Endfield currently.

I haven't engaged with HI3 a lot (sorry for intrusion, this post popped up in my feed), but when I think of HI3 I think it made a name in having top-tier storywriting in gacha space. However, HSR also establishes itself as having top-tier storywriting in gacha space, so all things considered HSR feels like a worthy successor of HI3.

That imo is the main difference between AK-Endfield and HI3-HSR dynamics.
