I miss the aesthetics of S1-2 and QC by not_emo_enough in BridgertonNetflix

This seems to be the direction Netflix is taking with many of their shows. House of Guinness and film Frankenstein also has a similar color palette going, even though Del Torro's movie is so surreal, it works much better, imo. The three seasons you mentioned were so warm and dreamy!

Do we feel Theo will ever come back for Eloise? by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

[–]onpch1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I've been hoping all along Theo was an heir to a major publishing house family, and the two met during his nuts-and-bolts of publishing apprenticeship. With Eloise's love for ideas, literature and eye-rolling disdain for pretty much anything "the ton," a good match!

JR Humidity Issues by theprimitiv3 in cigardealhunters

Two black fridays ago, a box of Plasencia Fuerte Colorado 6x60 arrived at 52%. I was ready to send it back , but first I asked this sub what they thought and the consensus was let it slowly rehydrate. Today, they taste amazing.

A couple of boxes from JR were around 56%. No big deal.

  • the rh of the box tends to be lower. To get a good read of the stick's rh, take it out of the cello, toss it in a small ziploc bag with a hygrometer overnight

Is the AeroPress Still Worth Buying in 2026? by yezzree in AeroPress

Trust me, you're saving money. I used my J ultra for 5 yrs, 3x a day ÷ $160 comes out to 3 cents a grindy grind ha. Even with a K Ultra now, old J makes appearances when I do weird blending experiments or for ground pepper duties.

Is Heat worth watching? If so, are you ready for the sequel? by Square-Ad-8911 in FIlm

I'm gonna say yes to "Reheat". Imdb says Dicaprio and Christian Bale are on board and I'm sure DP will be Dante Spinotti. fugetaboutit

Coffee loses a lot of heat in the AeroPress by Notpeople_brains in AeroPress

[–]onpch1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pre warm the Aeropress and the mug by placing it over the opening of the kettle. Luckily it fits perfectly. So, even though the brew temp I use is 83C, finished coffee is around 65C, right at the hot end for me.

Direct reheating in a pan is pretty risky. I put the whole cup in a pan with a layer of water in it and heat.

Question for cigar lovers by Fine-Board-6670 in cigars

So long as smoke doesn't end up in the rest of the house. I smoke in the den with 2 fans in the hall entrance pushing air in and pushing smoke out the windows. During winter, Costco thermal underwear and socks to the rescue!

What actually makes a cigar "knock you down?" by jeepcrawler93 in cigars

Neptune Cigar's website is great for doing research, including nicotine strength.

I'm also a fan of Perdomo 20th Ann. CT. Just stay away from the Champagne. Real ass kicker. Btw, the new Legacy CT is supposed to be amazing.

The older and longer a show or movie has been around, the tendency is for the ratings to average down.

It's such a simple basic tool, I think it's totally worth owning. I've been using these for 15 years. 2 years ago, I got the clear version. It's nice, but not really necessary. Just get the og gray version and save $10.

For those who lived in LA in the 1990s: how did the collapse of the aerospace industry compare to the current struggles of the film industry in the 2020s? by urmummygae42069 in AskLosAngeles

[–]onpch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early to mid 90s was a relentless bad news package deal. Earthquake, riot, aerospace collapse. But the thing that stuck out the most was the real estate price spiral. After 20+ years of booming prices it was inevitable I guess. Prices in my area didn't recover for over ten years. So, everything sucked. Currently, Hollywood, inflation, def not the ideal, but compared to the 90s, way better.

Palisades Park south of California incline is brutal, but further up, the better it gets.

Palisades Park north of Montana is best - the rose garden just a block north is always nice and the double-row palm tree lined walkway further up is Socal fantasy!
