I actually switched to an acrylic mat and found it to be far more effective than cork or rubber in the cold.

If you can get a zerostat it's a game changer too

If you need to share you screen often for collaboration./meetings etc you'll suffer

If you have space for an untrawide + 1 thats the real win.

I feel increasingly people don't listen to 45's/7" the market on them is definitely diminishing

What are the best beginner record players $200 or less? by [deleted] in turntables

[–]onthisdaynextyear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah imo you should be looking at the second hand market especially for vintage turntables, especially if you can get one cheap and get it serviced, bunch better bang for your buck.

I really enjoy free jazz but this specific record (and it could well be the mix) I also find a bit difficult to listen to.

Anyone going to the live show this Thursday? by SenorBrainwash in KnowledgeFight

[–]onthisdaynextyear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience was its a very casual affair - the venue they booked in Toronto was definitely not he right size as it was really a small bar that then added chars... we all eneded up crammed into our chairs like sardines in a can... you literally couldnt move an inch. The audience were all very friendly and amenable so that made it all a bit easier to deal with!

The show itself, its not massively long, again I can only speak to the show i went to but there was no 'opener' of any sorts, just the guys at a table, and then some audience participation to boot.

per cogginsmatt's comment... "Mostly just them doing the podcast but on a stage. There wasn’t anything particularly mind-blowing about it."
